Bought ectune, installed it per guidelines online. Get to the step where I plug in my ostrich and it won't connect to ectune. It just says can't comet to demon. Idk why since I have a ostrich. Ive uploaded the firmware to it and it auto detects when I do that. Tunerpro rt recognises it right away when I plug it in. Should I install ectune and try re installing it? I haven even got to the point where I need to request a licence for my ostrich yet.

It wont let me click on that. It just says demon, and its all grayed out and wont let me select it.

Did you get your license from Calvin? im currently having issues getting a hold of him too about an update issue.

I got it from xenofraud, saved it as license.xml and put it into my c:program files/ectune folder.

Hmm are you on version R19 or R20? there has been issues with r20 i have found lately but if you download straight from ectune's website i think its version R17. if you click register does your information show in the fields?

yea i would go ahead and fill out the registry and send it. in 24hours you get an email back with your license and that field will have your name etc in it. you might have to send calvin and email so you can get the latest update all old updates get locked out.

info@ectune already sent me my license and I saved it as license.xml and put it in my program files/ectune folder as per his directions.

Yeah, I talked to Leed about it and he said crome is ok, but ectune is that much more accurate, and dependable.

I read EcTune has a better injector offset library and ignition timing accuracy.

When I received the email with my license it told me to save it as license.xml So It was named license so I re saved it with .xml on the end, then put it into my C:program files/ectune folder. After looking around in the ectune program folder I was looking the names and propertys of all the files and my .xml file was named license.xml.xml took one of the .xml's off and boom! Shit works. Now Im just waiting for my license for my ostrich now.

It was Calvin's way to prevent piracy. You register your software and he gives you a license paired to your laptop. You connect an ostrich and he updates your license to be paired to your ostrich as well. Now you can tune but only with your one ostrich. He.used to time bomb the software once a month so if he suspected you were pulling the bin off the ostrich to tune other cars and burn a chip he could lock out your license so your software didn't work with the next update.

Least that's the idea I got to the.way the.system was.
The monthly time bomb is gone, and though he doesn't support much anymore there are a few.guys on the forum that do a good job helping through install errors. And there is a system to get a new license or transfer that Calvin responds to detailed on the forums as well.

ok, so now when I conect the ostrich it conects, but its read in the lower left corner and when I click on emulator>emulator info I get

not sure on that one. but i just got a hold of calvin an i know for the tuner license their will be an update shortly. he is currently in the hospital so getting a hold of him lately has been different. you might wanna try posting over on ectune forum and if nothing shoot him a direct email. although i would shoot him an email as last resort.

I had alll kinds of fucking trouble setting up Justins shit. Calvin duirected me at an Ostrich specific version. HTats what fixed it after he fixed the XML in justins licence.

Well I think i might have figured it out.

opened ectune
plugged in ostrich
went to the emulator tab
clicked conect
clicked emulator info
at this point it still said

Clicked request Lic

after a few seconds it came up with a box that said

and it changed all my shit back to

checked my email and now im just waiting on my license.

I got it to work. Finally got a licence that would work. I tried calling him and I spoke to some dildo that had no idea wtf was going on. I would ask a question he would put me on hold. Come back with a answere/question and would give him a response and he would put me on hold again and come back with a answere/question. After about 6x of doing that he told me to email xenofraud because he had no idea. But I finally got it to work. And now its time to do a little tooning

There used to be two versions of the program, ostrich and demon.  I downloaded the wrong one at some point and it wouldn't work.  Then  they sent me a link to the ostrich version and it was all fine after that.  I'm surprised that calvin can be reached at all.  Last time I looked into it it looked like he had given up on the program completely.
