cx gearing is way too long. you can find z6 trannies all over the place, y8 trannies are a little more scarce but shorter geared.

First off what are you doing with the car? 1/4 mile racing, scca, hwy racing, street racing, not racing at all and just drive it to honda tek meets?

What sized tires? What rpm you plan on shifting at? There is alot of differant little things to look at. Here is a link that has always helped me out.

Well If I had to just pick one off of the shelf I would pick the 92-95 civic Si trans only because it has the .750 5th gear insted of the .702 that the ex has. Its real only about 5mph differance at like 3k rpms on the freeway.

with 24.5" tall tires

ex trans in 5th at 3k =73.32mph
Si trans in 5th at 3k = 68.63mph

The shift forks huh ?

So one bends, and one breaks.  They both suck so whats the difference ?

Ive been through both, and broken both. Many times. I really dont believe that one is stronger than the other.
