The A-Team got nothing on that van.

Fuck that, you know the A-Team's van was only setup for drifting. Besides, they had fucking automatics in the trunk. O0

Yeah I saw your post on ZeroG, do the 4g6X motors bolt up to the 4G9X transmissions?  Are the bolt patterns the same?  Here in the states, the Volvo S40 comes with the 4g93, wondering if that might be a possible source of parts.
[/quote]

The AWD 4G93 is the same case as the AWD 4g63 evo box, different ratios and the evo got double sincro's. The AWD and FWD boxs have the same bolt pattern, the RWD usually have a wider pattern and dont bolt up.

Cheers mate. A guy from palmy north brought it and the first thing he did was put a cannon muffler on and a huge intercooler out the front with 19inch mags(pic below). Looked fucken shit. I decided 6 months ago that this was the most fun vehicle Iv owned for a daily driver and had to do another one now im living back in Australia. Ill do a build thread when I get it going, its got a series 8 RX7 gearbox and a 2L evo 3 motor with a compound turbo set up with a tdo5 fed by an HX40 pro. Should do 550whp easily.

I literally shouted out loud "OH NO!!!" when I read this! And my wife said "What???" because it sounded fucking serious. Which it is. :-(

New one looks MEAN! Which bit of ozzy? I'm living in Barcelona; modified cars and skid marks outside my undies are few and far between here! :-(

What's the configuration of the compound setup exactly?

Fred.

You pay 1k for rb30's?  I'm in the wrong business...

What does an rb26 go for?

rb30's aren't easy to find here, some people get them cheaper but alot of people will pay 1k for a motor in good shape.. rb26's probably would go for an easy 2000 if it was in good shape and complete

I'm assuming that 2k is for an R32 block.  That's not too bad.

I still can't get over 1k for an rb30...

20,25,30 are all cheap as chips, at least in NZ. 26 is not cheap, anywhere, that I'm aware of. It's right up there with 20B and the toyota V12.

2k is pretty common for a good running long block 26 up here in canuckistan.  If you want to talk about r34 nur spec blocks, that's a different story...

Sorry for the late reply iv been away for work. Im living on the sunshine coast in Queensland, I did a heavy diesel fitter upskill from light vehicle mechanic and Im working at an open pit coal mine up in the Bowen basin. The compound set up is the following-- (Exhaust side) forged evo 3 engine, with twinscroll manifold to evo 7 twinscroll 16g tdo5hr using a smaller evo 4 rear housing, it has a 60mm wastegate that fully opens and bypasses the tdo5. The down pipe from the tdo5 feeds into a billet 7 blade HX40 and the waste gate from the tdo5 also feeds into the HX40. There is also a 40mm waste gate pre hx40 that dumps to atmosphere.
(compressor side)---- hx40 feeds into the tdo5's inlet and then intercooler and plenum.
The Hx40 will only need to run 10-15psi and the total system pressure will be between 30-40psi and is running E85 and staged injection (8 injectors). This is still a rhmt style build with not much $$$$ spent.

I love your exhaust side plan, it's exactly like the Borg Warner R2S setup. The intake side plan isn't as nice, though. Did you consider bypassing the 16g with an air valve too like the R2S setup? Should be mean all the same. How are you planning to cool the 60mm gate?

The drag strip would be the longest time it will be on boost and the tdo5 turbine still flows alot when the gates open so im hoping that cooling wont be too much of a problem, it also hangs down in an area that should see good airflow.
The Tdo5 compressor shouldn't be a restriction, as far as it knows its 5000 leagues below sea level. If it was bypassed it wouldn't be a true compound setup, I based alot of mine off the boost logic 2jz supra that makes 20psi at 2800 rpms and making around 800 RWHP. Its going to be really interesting, if it doesn't work as well as I hope I can always change the setup around.

Right, it would be a clever sequential twin turbo setup that actually works :-)

What is a nur spec block?  We've an R34 RB26 sitting here that the cams and crank have been stolen out of, otherwise complete longblock.  That worth anything two weeks before racewars?

Strike.

The compound setup I recall where the guy had a valve bypassing the small turbo's compressor had lots of issues. It either wouldn't open or close reliably, can't recall which. Compound-sequential is all about pressure ratios. A 35lb/min turbo with 15psi at it's inlet will pass over 60lb/min before becoming a restriction.
