F23 into a 93 prelude vtec
« on: April 21, 2009, 08:09:06 PM »

Heres the deal. I got a 93 prelude vtec with everything but the h22.
I bought a 2001 automatic f23 for 200 bones today and I have a couple of questions.

I sized up all the mounts and everything thing looks like it will swap over, but the driver side motor mount, the bracket on the motor is completely different.
Do I have to run a bracket off a h22/h23 to get the prelude one to work or do I have to do some welding?

Will the half shaft off the h22 work with the prelude s axels Im going to buy or do I have to get the s half shaft too?

Will a h22 dizzy fit on the f23 or do I have to source a f23/f22 one?

H22/f22/f23 flywheels are the same?

Car $150
motor $200
tow $50
total as of the moment $400  O0

My buddy has a 93 Lude with a H23
He smoked the engine and I swaped in a JDM F22 no problems or mods needed

um on the bracket you just need to bolt up the stock one from the car originaly. the timing cover won't fit right but just make it happen.
h22 and f23 dstributors are shaped why differantly the h22's are like and offset triangle and f23's have a typical triangular shape.

You answered my main concern. Thank you.  :-*

Obd2 dizzys can be used with obd1 you just have to change the plugs on the harness correct?

Chris, will a d16z6 vtec solenoid work on the f23?
If not you got one that will fit for a good price?

No it will not. 35 shipped for solenoid with both sensors off f23

Vtec solenoids really are just for the head they came off etc. The d16z6 does fit dohc vtec b series heads but besides that noting interchanges between different series motors.

Well you wouldn't happen to have a driver side motor mount bracket for a 93 prelude on your hands?
That would make me happier then a pig in shit.
And I could get you the money tomorrow for both.

we're doin pretty much the same swap right now at the shop except ours is non-vtec. Like stated use the prelude bracket and cut the area that doesnt fit the cover, it also protrudes at the timing belt, all the mounts are the same. I might have the solenoid I'll look tomorrow.
