Anyway, the rate of death is pretty low on this shit. There's maybe 200K people in Mexico infected, 150 deaths as of this morning. Whoopty-shit. If there's a problem it's likely to come this fall if/after the shit mutates, which is why I'm killing Sewell ASAP for taking those goddamn fish meds.

One opinion that I couldn't get across to all the green card carrying good peoples I worked with for a few weeks in California. They changed the subject when I asked them how they got their work visa's and why others shouldn't be kicked out for breaking the laws they obviously followed. JD, not to argue with the grand master, but the CFR for this in Mexico is at 7.4% based on current confirmed numbers.

For reference, the 1918 Pandemic had a CFR of roughly 2.5%.

The CFR, while interesting, means nothing. Those figures are off of Mexico, and that is a country of people either too poor to afford a doctor or too blue collar work ethic stubborn to go to a doctor until they are about dead - in which case they don't have the 2-3 days it takes for antibiotics to kick in. The killer here is pneumonia, a complication from not seeking treatment, not the swine flu.

Look at the specific CFR's on the left, then the numbers of deaths that the government is expecting to have for this.

Remember, seasonal flu by itself kills 36,000 each year in this country.
