So here's my semi build thread. Non turbo so I know most of you won't care but I'm posting it anyway. I picked up my 1998 gt a while ago and it was bone stock. With the anemic non pi 4.6 and automatic I was bored with driving it pretty quick. I decided it needed a dohc 4.6. I picked up one from a 1998 mark viii. They have an aluminum teksid block. I also decided to add a flowmaster exhaust, 4.10 gears, a 2500 stall converter and added a 125 shot of nitrous.
The car the day I got it.
The old engine.
The new one.
I beat on this one for 15,000 miles with zero issues but it's still slow. So I decided to upgrade a little. On a very limited budget okay I just didn't want to spend much I began hoarding some parts. I picked up a low mile gt500 oil pump.
Some new in box boss 302 connecting rods (proven to hold over 1000 hp and 8,000 rpm).
I also picked up a factory kellogg forged crankshaft. I had a set of 7 good manley pistons and ordered one to make it a complete set. I balanced the rotating assembly on our balancer.
Picked up an aeromotive stealth 340 lph pump and modded the stock basket for it to fit.
.
Scored on a super low mile procharger p1sc.
I'm broke so I ordered an ebay intercooler and piping kit.
Now all I have to do is get off my ass and drop the engine and install everything.
