engine just about buttoned up last night.

Then its time to build this wiring harness.

If I can't do wheelies I bet it would do a sweet barrel roll.

Trying out imgur, so let me know if these pics show up.

oil cooler and filter installed.

LSvtec wasn't too bad, once you start adding more sensors its just more of a clusterfuck.
Took some time to try and keep the back of the block manageable.  Nothing like having to blindly reach a hose through an octopus thats 220 degrees.

Turbo feed, Vtec feed, gauge feed, and oil pressure sensor all crammed into one spot.

Doubled up some orings and got the FID2000's jammed in.

Meticulous trimming of the timing belt cover to clear something. IDK what or why, I did it last build.  Only difference now is there is a stock obd2 crank sensor in there now.

Drilled and tapped for the cam sensor.
crazy they want $500 for a cam gear, mount, and sensor.
They sold me a magnet for $8, sensor for $100, and a blank cam gear was a wash after I sold my skunk 2's.

Plan of attack is to button the whole thing up with every part ready to drop the car down over and every sensor installed.
Start at the ecu and route the wires over the engine to the sensors.
Slide some loom, heat shrink, and labels over the bundles.
crimp on some new sensor plugs.

bit the bullet and ordered all the shit to build a fuse box and wire harness.
Local guy charges $1k for the engine harness, not a bad deal considering the expense of all of the parts.

I doubt I'll save much cash, and going to spend way more hours.

But I'm stubborn, I would have to add to it for all the features I want available, it wouldn't handle any of the rest of the car, I apparently like to make myself miserable...

Engine looking badass! I saw you are adding some sensors, but why build a whole new wire harness? Old one fuct?

I still have my 95 civic, which wasn't an old car when I started owning civics, so it's still not old in my mind. I forget that the thing is now 23 years old now. It feels like I'm slowly replacing every piece of the car. Unfortunately mostly with chinese bullshit, but what can you do?

My original plan was to modify an obd2a harness.
After I pulled off the loom and started stripping wires of sensors I wouldn't need I didnt have much left.

Thanks.

Temporarily distracted with a few other projects. I want to make sure I have a nice clean work area so once I start I can knock it out.

Side note, learned you can supposedly recharge dead AGM batteries unlike standard lead acid.
Hope its true as I have 3 dead odyssey batteries here.
Of course this is after I ordered the ebay knock off version already.

Couldn't figure out how to get my dash in around my cage to the point I shattered it trying.
After tracking down a new one that wasn't stupid expensive I dropped the car off at a local fabricator to cut it in and do a few upgrades.

After we pushed it in, he said he'd pop the windshield and it should drop right in.
After staring at the dash how many times I never saw it.

Guess its time to layout where my ecu and brake lines are going to run and stop finding excuse and make a mess of this wiring.

Anyone else take 30 years to put a piece of shit together?
This damn thing WILL run this year.

I've been turning down all kinds of side jobs, I'm not doing shit until this runs.

Man, I've had my nova apart for almost 6 years now. Makes me want to just throw a carb on my lq4 and no turbos and just running it so I dont have to plumb and wire it. Having babys and building houses reall puts a damper on car projects.

But your crx is starting to take shape!

I focus on all the wrong things.
If I finish this wiring it will run... but it would be easier to mount these brake lines first... fuck it I don't like how I did this lets change all this shit.
OK now mount these wheel speed sensors then wire it.... someone is selling something cheap... fuck it wheel speed sensors bold right up to these aftermarket control arms...

after rebuilding too many of my buddies trans, I decided I hate sleeves/synchros/springs/hubs. Everything gets beat to shit and is expensive, so I sold all the new shit for my new trans and went a different route.

Then I had to figure out how to rig a wheel speed sensor inside the stock rear drums.
I'm kind of lazy and with everyone going AWD these kstuned rear trailing arms are dropping in price pretty hard.

So my inline CNC staging brake won't work anymore, had to swap to one with its own reservoir.
caught the undercoating on fire pretty good welding that in.

ran new brake lines for the front wheels finally.

The stock column was missing some braces and was terribly flimsy, so I cut everything out back to the firewall.
Had to cut the dash bar out to fit the dash in because it was too far away from the firewall.
Welded a new dash bar in, welded a strange quick release to the stock column, welded it to the new dash bar with some 3/8 steel rod. solid as hell now.

Still a worthless piece of shit, but now with a bunch more wasted money in it.
Its funny my car will sit dormant until people pay me to build shit for their cars and i'll get all motivated to work on mine.
Then by the time I get everyone elses done I'll get burned out and use that money to buy shit I don't need for mine because i don't feel like fucking with it anymore.
At least it should run in a couple weeks.

bought new hasport shift linkage because I didn't want old clapped out sloppy shit.
It made a handful of 1/4 mile passes and a few little road trips.... then sat on a shelf for roughly 5 years.
