Ford T3 60/48 or 14b...Which is "bigger" on the exhaust side?
« on: August 06, 2014, 04:39:46 PM »

Title says it all.   I have my little 4g63 dodge colt on the street with an old ford 60/48 T3 and the thing pretty much spools up instantly.  Had somebody say it is the same size or smaller than a 14b and I should swap it out.  Just looking at them side by side the little t3 looks like the wheels and housings are bigger.

So which one should spool the slowest?

T3 is larger. I have a .63 exhaust housing you could have because the turbo mani you built me 5 years ago is still rocking strong. And I made that fucker glow on the dyno a couple of years ago....lol  Just pay shipping. It has 2 or 3 bolts broke off in the housing but I'm sure you could heat it up and get them out. Pm me if your interested.

Thanks for the offer, but I already have a few 63 housing laying around...just need to get the broken bolts out of them. lol  That's pretty much the only reason I used the 48 to begin with, guess ill try the weld a nut on trick and see if any come out.  It'll probably all get redone when I can find a awd donor anyways with a slightly bigger turbo.
This thing has been a recycled parts, getting stuff cheap as possible project.  I imagine once I order tires I'll have more in them than the rest of the car.

That thing with an AWD conversion would be a ton of fun.
