I'm still alive.

After a two month hiatus I'm back working on the bike.

But first, went to a local car show this last weekend with my other bike. Wasn't able to be in the show because it's cars only, but here are a few of my favorites.

Nice oval window bug

Neat chopped truck

Crazy chopped car

Really nice Chevelle

This Nova was crazy, bass boat style metal flake on this car. Way too overpowering during the day, but it looked amazing at night, tons of power as well.

This Nova was really clean. After this bike a Nova this style is going to be my next project.

And in my opinion here's the craziest car there

1967 Camaro, LS7 Kenne Bell supercharged. has a TKO 6-speed in it, dyno tested, puts out 817HP and 922LB torque, absolutely ridiculous. And the engine bay is clean enough to eat from, easily. Also the rear rims have about 8" of dish. I can't even think about all the money in this car. Super nice guy owned it.

OK on to the bike stuff.

Here's a few shots of the stuff I got from my brother after his bike accident

I've decided to scratch the swingarm I had, it just wasn't working out, I was going to have to put hours and hours into modifying it, and it still wouldn't be right, so I did the right thing and bailed on it. Now I'm building one from scratch. Here's the start of it, the axle adjustment plates. You'd be surprised how much work went into these things. I started off with square tubing that was too large, so I had to cut it down and weld it back together, then shape it. I've still got a bunch more work to go on them.

Here's the start of the swingarm pivot point

I started building my subframe/tail section. Please reserve judgement on this until it's done, remember that the actual tail section will resemble the KTM RC8 tail.

and a quick pic of the RC8 tail to refresh your memory

You can see from these pictures that I also relocated the shock mounting point. The new swinarm will allow the shock to be mounted low like that which will give me the clearance I need for the turbo and exhaust. Should be a much better solution, albiet not as nice looking.

Also, working in my Dad's garage is very cramped, fortunately he was already going to build an addition to it, and I just am helping him along. This is going to be our new fab area once it's all together. Concrete floor with be poured probably Friday, and the walls will go up next week sometime, can't wait to get it done!

thanks

Got the tail section fully mocked up. It needs to be finish welded and smoothed, Then I'll skin it with sheetmetal, should look pretty cool.

As you can see I pulled inspiration from not only the RC8 but also from Rossi's current tail section. It's a little hard to see all the framing in the pics, but the tail doesn't come to a direct point, more like a duckbill that's about 3" wide.

Let me know whatcha think....

I feel this is the best shot to show the end result

thanks for looking

badass project! are you doing anything with the engine internally or you just gonna boost it stock? im curious as to what these motors can handle because i just started a xs bobber project and thought it would be fun to build a turbo bobber.

nothing special, TC Bros hardtail, $5 tank i got at a auction along with 2 spare motors for $10, 3 over fork tubes, drum 21' front

looks like a good project, have fun with it.

Stock motor, just rebuilt. These motors come stock with a very boost friendly CR only 8:1

I don't want to do anything that will weaken the motor so I'm leaving it dead stock. If I want more power, more boost, it's that simple. :)

I'll find the limits of the stock motor pretty quick I'm sure.

Bringing it back old school eh?

 ;D

I'm not a fan of seeing pictures a couple years old, I've lost about 30lbs in the last year, which is disgusting because apparently I had 30lbs to lose, I was a fatty!  :-X

Not much on the bike build, but this last week has been really busy. I've been helping my father build an addition to his shop so we can have a metal working area. I'm super excited about this because it was really cramped in the shop currently as I'm sure you could tell from the pictures.

The other reason I was happy to be involved is that I know NOTHING about construction, I just don't do it. So here was a good project for my Dad to help me learn some stuff.

Enjoy the pictures:

It was a great thing to work on, got a lot done. The only things I have to do now is make some hinges for the doors and get those mounted. Then I can cut the door into the main shop and I'll be able to move all my stuff in.

A few notes about the shop- The wall on the left side has an opening for another window, we didn't have a window yet, so it's just covered with plywood for now.
The outside will eventually be painted the same color as the rest of the house, that's just a primer.
Why white/cream colored on the inside? Two reasons, one it will reflect light really well and look brighter inside, and two we had about 5 partially used  gallons of paint in the garage and when we mixed them all together this is the color we got :)

Thanks for looking and I'll post some more bike related stuff soon.

solid work. it always gives me a half chub to see people doing shit on their own rather than pay someone crazy $$ to do it for them.

I think about 2.5 yards? somewhere around there. We put rebar in the flooring, but didn't attatch it to the other concrete pad.

Finished up the doors today:

yea buddy, time to start moving in! :)

+1
run the wiring before you put insulation and cover with some sheetrock or plywood—so much neater and safer than having your wiring exposed  :?:
Great little fab area though ;)

He has it to the point where it is ready for wiring, etc.

The way I see it, priority 1 was getting it weather tight, prior to proceeding to the next step, wiring.

I don't really see why people are jumping in about it unless they don't really have any experience with construction.

Looks like he is exactly where he needs to be for right now. I'd rather wire it out of the weather.

His wife's kinda cute.  I'd go for babysitter and blow, and if you play your cards right the babysiter joins you after the kid goes to bed.   :noel:
