went to the track yesterday
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:39:40 AM »

finally had slicks to run instead of M&H drag radial failure. best feeling in the world is coming out of the hole at 7K RPM's with full traction. now if i can only smuggle JD up here to make more power the car will actually be fast.

workin on it. needs more power first, i coulda knocked off a 11.3x if i tried real hard but the belt was slipping like all hell, top of 4th i looked at the boost gauge and i only had 8ish psi. the 60' on the 11.4 pass was 1.51

somethings wrong with the diff i think the clutches are hurt or it needs a fluid change i had people coming up to me telling me only 1 tire was spinning.

Good stuff.  Love how the shaker is ready to rip thru the hood. Fucking sweet.

Photographer is a badass too.  Both shots are moderately difficult in such quality.

what did you expect? it made 494 on 10psi, it was only running 8 from what i could tell, and race weight was 3555.

Yeah thats kind of a heavy car.  You need much more boost than 8-10lbs.  Push 14 or 15 through that bitch and click off a 10.xx pass.  Oh yeah, what kind of ammo is the .223?  Its good to go on my FFL.  Please tell me its not wolf and its some decent brass cased shit.

Try and spray some track bite on your belt. See if that helps.

Whats the best 60 guys are pulling on stock suspension stangs like yours ?

Time for a cogged belt and 15 pounds.

Local kid with a procharged Stang runs 10s in the 13X mph marki, I think around 15 psi on a slipping blower belt. I think the only reason he hasn't gone cogged belt is because he's scared to.

its only  little baby P1SC which is the smallest blower they sell for the car so it wont do 14psi without over spinning it. its gonna get a smaller pulley with a better FMIC and itll probably make 10-12 according to procharger. its wolf MC i wasnt shelling out for brass cased ammo.

yea it a cobra bumper, stocker is just a gt bumper with a lip. i like the cobra alot better.

Try and spray some track bite on your belt. See if that helps.

i was gonna try some type of belt dressing or something but i think the real problem is that it has a spring loaded tensioner and the only manual one i could find went in place of the a/c compressor and im not pulling the a/c out for it. i was thinking about making a bracket with a set screw deal on it to put manual tension on the stock auto tensioner. the cog belt onversion to too much work and so is the 8 rib. if i cant get it to stop slipping with more tension im gonna have to do something though

my buddy cut a 1.500 but i think theres been dudes in the 1.4's. if i had more power out of the hole i  bet i could have cut a 1.4x because i wasnt having ANY traction issues. the car still has stock manifolds, cats, small fmic and a terrible tune on it. it should pick up 50 wheel easily with just removing the cats, adding a bigger fmic and a retune.
