what happened?

They sold honda racing parts is what happened. The market is so over saturated with douche bags, cdm parts that its dead. Throw in the worst economic downturn in history and you get nothing but ebay cdm parts left.

Hence why all I do is sell used parts from parts cars, swaps etc. There is no performance market left really. China owns it now atleast for hondas

When I was telling everyone a couple months back if there are parts you want you better buy them now since they might not be there tomorrow, this is just another sign of that.

I have watched almost every person I know in this field either just call it quits selling off inventory, equipment too downsizing from huge shops in nice areas to moving to hood small shops.

These are people in there late 30's+ who are skilled,15+years in business. Not much left in this story except the end.

I sold my zc/si transmission 6 months ago back to Shaun K on the hybrid board. Atleast it will be in good hands.

With deepest regret as of July 23rd 2009 Tuner Toys is no longer.  Due to the economy we have been forced to close our store and file bankruptcy.  We appreciate all of your support throughout the years we have been in business and enjoyed our time serving you, we will miss it greatly.

About a month or two ago I made that thread asking where TT craig was? Couldn't get a hold of anyone for the longest time so figured something was up. That really sucks. I hope Craig still posts on here :-\

Amazing I have been going strong and have helped 3 people who lost there jobs with part time work at my place.

I made the transition last year to being a used parts King since I saw the downfall of Honda racing. The chinesse cant build a dizzy, alt, starter etc for a shit so a quality used honda one will do the job at half the cost

The next ring of stuff you will see is Engine importers going under. 2 very large ones in california that have been around since the 80's are closing their doors and more are to come.

I cant say this enough if there is a part you want I would buy it once you get cash. It may not be there tomorrow Im not making this shit up kids.

Majority of shops in any automotive parts field are clearing inventory not stocking so once its gone its gone.

Street kings went first.  Tunertoys was the natural progression.  Now, thankfully, Steven T. Smith will lose some of that Minnesota belly that he's gained from oil line sales funded soda and or burgers.

+1 that's how we did it back in the day.
