I haven't talked to Craig for a long time, but our wives talk here and there, so I really don't know the whole story.
What I do know:
-I will have Tunertoys block fittings and drain flanges like nothing happened.
-Tunertoys had little overhead, just like myself.
With the way we both run things, I'd have to speculate that a tax break, or other legal benefit would lead to filing for bankruptcy. I would think that in a tough time, or a point where he simply wanted out I would have been offered TT, just as I've offered Stealthmode to him, but I didn't get that offer. That's why the bankruptcy route would seem to be a legal benefit somehow or another. It's true that the economy has slowed sales, but these aren't career business, they're fun challenges. At different points these small businesses have supported a wife staying home, or a slow winter painting season, but I'm confused how a stagnant business could lead to an official closing, unless it's for the reasons I stated above. Just speculation though.
Craig is probably the most standup guy I've met in either of my businesses dealings, and he still will be. I'll still have the things that TT made a name of, and the chinese rods and extra stuff that he had good deals on will have to be sourced from one of the other bazillions of sellers.
