obd2b > obd1 conversion
« on: October 02, 2009, 01:56:49 AM »

im just bout done putting together my turbo kit. (just waiting on a U bend to be delivered)

the next thing im thinkin bout about is my obd1 conversion for tune.

my car is a 99 civic cx hatchback.
stock motor stock intake manifold.

i was told some tuning programs have a program to disable my iacv.

would i be able to unplug my iacv and get it tuned by crome or something that disables iacv?

would i have a rough/pulsing idle?

im not worried about cold starts, i just wanna be able to get it tuned, and keep it easy enough to switch back to obd2 for emissions

Most everything diables the IACV.  I'd not bother with a Y7 head, or IM, for anything i wanted to do but if you're looking for 200-ish whp then go for it.

yeah.

im looking for a 200 ish street car.

i just wanted it simple for me to take off to pass emission (CA resident :( )

so if its tunable without an IACV, ill just unplug get a obd1 conversion harness and get it done with

so far, your the only person that gave me any type of answer.

thanks!

Intake manifold swaps literally take an hour max. That d16y7 manifold is a major flaw and is worthless.
