You'd honestly be better off if you said fuck the gym and spent that time running (jogging and speed training) and biking, and working out with your own body weight doing pushups, pullups, and core work. I could definitely bench and squat more in highschool/as a college undergrad, but I'm way stronger now. Doing jiu jitsu for about a year probably helped too, but I'm pretty sure I could make you look like a 12 yr old fat kid on the short bus. If you're serious about football, look at all the top players in the NFL-- they are lean, tough, and quick as fuck.
