Ok... I want a fuel pump.  I'm leaning toward a 044... but reading about it I'm seeing where they suggest putting the 044 inline with the stock pump still in the tank.  The two pumps relieve some of the load of the other, like a dual engine setup thing.  This is neat and doesn't require me fucking with a crx fuel tank.  Stupid idea or is this just every day shit people do with inline pumps?

Thoughts?

In the miata world, back in the day people used inline fuel booster pumps. They do work. Only problems were reliability of the boost pump and the extra noise of the inline pump. If you have a quality pump, and don't mind the noise, it will work. I bought one and was going to do it, but then fuel pump prices got cheap and it only takes 5 minutes to pull the fuel pump in a miata, so I sold the inline and bought a 255HP.

Just run an in tank walbro. They are cheap and even with having to drop the tank it's an hour job tops. Also you can't fully rewire the pump with the tank in.

I had 2 black widows chillin waiting the last crx tank I dropped. I will now go armed with cans of carb cleaner for defense.

It's a real pain in the ass on a almost 20 years canadian car. Really :P Hoses are breaking, fuel pump cover is stuck in 1" of rust etc.

The worst part is when you change it because it leaks and you need torch to remove the bolts  :-\

Otherwise, it's not that bad.

I am not that ghetto, don't like to take crazy risks on a expensive motor, first time I installed them I fried burned one of the pumps make it looked like chalk cold after putting in a bad relay, lucky car did not cought on fire, guess no oxygen in the tank save my ass. plus its almost impossible to get 2 pumps in the tank. it was still difficult using the hanger.

This is not ghetto.  Lots of 600+whp supra guys done it for years.  I dont do anything to my cars that would make them unsafe, nor do I recommend anything that would be unsafe.

can someone count for me how many times I've been told that I don't belong here buy someone 1/16 of the experience or time on this forum or building and turbocharging hondas.

well I believe that the only reason why someone do something untraditional or "ghetto" to their cars is because they cannot afford to buy the part needed to do it safe "right" or the part is not available. everytime I take a risk I pay big time. I just had to order a new Ge block because of being cheap, the ne cost me $1500 including sh. + internals.... so if it means being stupid to be a part of rhmt maybe I don't belong here. maybe I should make build thread for you to see what I am working with and my power goal.

this is my final pic, did not took any of the install process, but only one pump at a time can go in.
and on side note a honda fuel pump hanger is different from a supra, so the same thing done a supra cannot be done to a honda.

thats what thought when I first got mine, its a very simple unit, if I had access to machining equipment, rhmt would have them at $80 shipped, I think OBX is working on as we speak  ;), but its patent so I dont know how its comming, I msg wier before about it, but I guess he is worried about legal issues. all it is a machined alluminum piece with fittings, looks very easy to make. I took it to a fab shop here and they quote me 600euros just to machined the plate part.

What kind of demand is there?

I can check and see how much it cost for me inhouse to make the plate.

I was thinking of just taking stock hangers and modifying them to work with two pump like I saw on here a while back.

If memory serves me right I think Spiker had posted a 2 pumps on stock hanger build but I can not find the bookmarked link I had. :?:

I'm not only talking about bolts, fuel hose are all rusty and break in your hand when you try to remove them. Maybe its a problem on integra, but 2 of my 3 integra I had to change all the lines from the tank to inside the car.

One of the bolt holding the straps broke and the other I had to use torch to remove it.
