JFK did mess around with the cam timing, it helped carry torque a little better but nothing to write home about.  i also emailed bisimoto about the cam needed to be degreed and was told it might make minor differences but it wouldnt cure my torque falling off like the niagra falls...

and just to LOL at... intake .007 exhaust .009  :)

i cant speak for JFK, but the impression i got from him was that he thought my setup was bottled necked by either my exhaust manifold, turbo choice, or my non-vtec head... i dont think he thought the cam was the problem.... and to be honest i didnt think the cam was the problem either.... UNTIL i tried a Colt cam and the car started to move like a mother fucker.

The manifold is thinwall (16 Guage-as I thought)...I asked way back (post deleted) what it was made of due to the WG setup hanging precariously of of what appeared to be thinwall stuff.

However... The answer has just come. If the DP is braced on the back of the motor there is NO additional stress. At all, in fact there would be LESS. The ONLY thing that comes into play is that the thermal expansion and contraction  of the manifold. Still another FACT is that the exhaust being longer creates more stress on the flex joint than if the DP was braced at the rear of the block in the "sheepy" location.


Im not going to get into the manifold material, as I know others are thinking the same as I.

Its funny how anything thats not nutswinging is automatically construed as "hating"


The build is cool, the goal... well Im curious to see if he makes it. I wouldnt call Pump and Meth "pump" but whatever. I hope he makes it, however clowns like you are just as bad as the people that badmouthed him earlier here.

Ride on... I have Compressor wheels to break and Fluxcore to spatter...

 I the only one convinced that that WG setup is fucking garbage, that manifold is going to crack even though its "braced to the teeth"  (none of which I can see in any pics), the flex pipe where it is is not helping stress at all on the manifold like he claims and that pump gas with meth is not "pump gas"

I'm with you on the manifold being  :?:. i don't understand why he wouldn't brace those joints where the wastegates tee off the collector. the wastegate will most certainly fall off with the vibration from a d series being pushed that hard.

and also i almost posted on his retarded flex location and how it serves no purpose there if the down pipe is braced/mounted in the back like it appears it is. also i have never seen a stepped header on a turbo car unless it was a log manifold. I have always heard you want to keep as much velocity or pressure as you can before the turbine. As in run the smallest diameter you can for the engine.

there is so much wrong with that build it just doesn't look like an "engineer" is building it. there doesn't seem to be real thought put into the components of the build.
