fyi the problems people are having with stock B trannies is not 1st gear or the launch. its 3rd and 4th when the car has the most load vs power output on it. the only thing youre gonna break off the launch is stock axles and maybe the ring/pinion gears.

In 700 passes, one pinion gear and 45-50 blocking ring/synchro springs.  THe rate of failure went up directly past the 400 whp mark.  Sometimes the blocking ring problem wasn't apparent and you'd fuck the dog teeth on the gear, or otherwise fuck the synchro hub.  We eventually removed the springs which would destroy a street driven trans if it saw any real miles like that, and haven't had a problem with it since but the car's really had ~7 trips to the track so that really doesn't mean shit.

my buddies car has gona through a couple 3rd and 4th gear sets (brand new honda ones). it ate 4th on two different dyno's and ate 3rd twice at the track. then it at the stock ring/pinion gears so it got a mfactory 4.05 then it ate the quaife. this was a ~700whp 2500lb coupe. trans also had a liberty cuff.

maybe it was a cursed trans.

I don't know either. I love racing!!

 But i also love my family. And i'll be taking some time off from the build soon because this little lady seems to be in the express lane to get here, lol Should be here any day now!!

 I have decided to go with the Precision 6765 Billet wheel turbo. So i can still compete in the 67mm class for next year. And still make some good power to have a good showing with the 72mm turbo guys in SFWD!!

 should be fun! ;D

 even trade for my EK shell..

I was speaking to a budy of mine and the convo came up about weight reduction. And this asshat said to me " i'm thinking about cutting the cage to loose some weight" ( he was going to running a All Motor H2B).

 Well after i almost slapped his face. I sugested a trade since i really need a caged car and i don't have the time with the new baby comming to gather materials and cage a car.

 So i pretty much gave him my Shell with suspension and some other lil goodies for his Shell with a cert 10 point and EVERYTHINGGG else stock. All i'm doing on this is suspension n brakes ( i'll just add pieces to the cage for a chute bracket and put a chute on the car), no fancy shit!! Function!

I vouch for supertech springs and retainers, but concur, if the head isnt on the motor yet, or even if it is, Id be seriously thinking about changing the valves from them.

yea, i have another dash from a junkyard car to put in a lil cleaner. But as far as the cage goes it will cert just fine(thats all that counts)
 And i am swapping out valves for Ferreas soon.

The 6765 billet will suport close to 900whp (and if i'am going deep into the 10's on less than 1/2 that now) I don't see why i won't be able to get the car to go a 9.70 once i figure out the boost controller which is veryyyyy competitive with the SFWD guys. 7 out of the 8 events i went to this year for SFWD cars a .60 was winnning. And fastest was the DP coupe with a .47


PS: i believe Tony went the first 8 sec pass under powered , with around 930whp.

I'd like to think the 6765 would have a hellll of a lot better powerband than a 372R
There is also an option for the 6765 with a .94 back T4 divided that would suport 900whp+ . i have to call up Precision this week to look into the right combo for my needs.

Well i'm at the hospital. And after having a 2 hour back n forth with my wife n the doc over C-section vs natural birth. She is now drugged up and 5cm and should be ready to push this lil girl out in about 4 more hours.I can't sleep on this hard ass chair and im a lil bored. So this is the reason for this post.
