I'm trying to sell a ring, so I posted it up on CL... asking price is $900.00. I paid a little over $2000.00 for the ring a few months back. I've been getting hits but they all seems to be bullshit "ship it to my friend overseas and I'll send you a check" or some shit like that. I got a different response last night. It reads as follows...

"Thanks for getting back to me also i will like to let you that am so serious in buying the item from you but am at the camp residing in Brooklyn for my rugby coaching,so i will not be able to come over to you to make the pick up nor pay in cash due to that reason which i want you to handle the shipment down to my partner whom was currently transferred to Benue Republic at oversea with her team on a research on a Human development under world Health Organization.so you will be shipping the item via the US local post office that is the United EMS Express Speed post mail (USPS) down to her there and i have make up up mine to pay you via paypal of $1100 for you on my behalf to cover the shipping fee since am very sure that paypal is safe.so kindly get back to me with your paypal account name and e-mail account address,so that i can send that to paypal for the instant money transfer."


Cliff Notes:
Dude says he's interested. Wants to pay me $1100.00 via paypal for me to ship to some BFE location...


Is paypal safe or does this sound like a scam (it does to me)
