Remove rad hose, drain coolant, pour, set. Just make sure you cut you water pump vanes off. No coolant to leak = no coolant leak.

Is the coolant in all your intakes ports on your head? Or just the #4 cyl? (thats the one thats farthest away from the drives side of the car)

manly above #4 in the head but then again some of the intake valves were open so dont know if they were holdin anythin

compression test was perfect ...leak down test will get done friday

thanks to harbor freight tools i picked up a cylinder leak tester and 4.5 angle grinder for $40 :noel:

i tried the HF leakdown tester and it was a POS. i know you get what you pay for, but they shouldnt be able to sell something that just flat out doesnt work. luckily i borrowed it cause i let someone borrow my mac leakdown tester.

the HF angle grinder is quite badass for the price though. i use the hell out of mine

How bad are the piston rings?

Just replace the headgasket.

If the rings are bad you'll burn a bit of oil but still drive, who cares.

I have low mileage jdm d15 vtec shortblocks. Throw on the freshly milled head and you have a motor that will own that y eries shortblock. They are 175+shipping



I agree its a silly thing to do unless you plan on never doing the honda thing again.

rings are weak on all cylinders , i did a leak down test today and air was shootin out my dip stick tube .... leak percentage is unknown fuckin harborfreight guage is stuck at 40% leakage w/e

main reason i want it gone!! car has had that since i got it ... my bad for thinkin i could fix it ... the motor was the deciding vote car has to go .... gotten a few offers already but dont know yet ill kep everyone updated

That is rather interesting. I wouldn't mind having another d15b block. My last one was almost bulletproof. It was 8k+ rpm quite a few times and 15 psi quite a few times. A leaky turbo feed line was what finally killed it.

well cut my losses and picked up a new car thanks to towdog
his loss my gain

a few things changed 
suspension is no longer koni yellows but now tokiko blues
turbo kit is a lil different
soon to be street tuned by lilpooh
new pics will be up when i dig it out of the snow
