Graduated as an ME 2 years ago.  Been working as an aerospace project/design engineer designing motors.  If you want to make money I highly suggest aerospace and going from project engineer to project manager or program manager.  My job is easy is fuck and there is always someone else to blame when every thing is fubar and late.

Fuck school.  School doesnt mean shit anymore, back in the day school mattered, a degree was worth the thousand and thousands of dollars you pay for classes and tuition, then if you had a degree you had status, school was expensive then and if you could afford to goto college you were already doing well off.   Well not anymore, now everyone and their fucking retarded pet chimp has a degree, school is cheap, degrees are everywhere to be had, it does not set you apart from the crowd or give you much of a leg up in this world.   In the end its not what you know but who you know, be the smartest motherfucker with shit tons of degrees and schooling but the person with the connection and less knowledge will still make more than you and get a job easier.  Who you know, not what you know.

I see too many of my friends graduated college with degrees in engineering, business and other shit and they arent doing anything worthwhile with their degree.  Graduate college with a degree in criminal justice = Work at costco! yay!

Fuck that, i'll hustle my whole life if thats what im in for with a degree, I do have an AA but that isnt hsit and doesnt make me feel 'special'

Moral of the story, fuck bitches, get rich, and HHH

That what people who are too dumb to go to school and people who are in liberal arts studies say.
No, actually its not, its what i've seen and experienced, college doesn't guarantee you shit and doesn't set you apart from anyone, but kudos if you make it work for you, try not to dig yourself too deep into debt from student loans

State Schools FTW.  I pay a third as much as many of my classmates, and I'm paying a lot of it off immediately

You can do a state school out of pocket, and if you're worth a shit you get paid for your garduate degree.

Graduated with an A.S. Engineering, A.S. Physics, and A.S. Mathematics May '08.  ;D

Was planning to go to University of Wyoming to get a B.S. M.E. and move to Laramie for 2 yrs.

But then my present job fell into my lap. I get an office, parking space, a decent salary, and travel on company's dime.

Now if I finish my M.E. degree I'll probably take classes by internet through UND and take the labs up in Grand Forks (only two).

The manufacturing part of the curriculum I see everyday at the foundry.

Along with Thermo. and Fluids on a level they do not teach in college.

And since I'm a little Tech. savvy I have the Management coming to me when using  a spectrometer and any new software. ;D

Liberal arts embodies what college was intended to do.  Which is making a person appear to be educated enough to make important decisions so that the graduate will then be valued for their reason, freeing them from manual labor.

Engineering is glorified manual labor.    You all should have gone for philosophy.

I'm confused.  Engineers that show up in dress clothing daily are doing so to do manual labor?

So much retardation in this thread it's kind of appalling.  I never cared for Rawr, but this is the type of thread he would excel in.

I never cared for you for the following reasons.

-Turbothis.net
-Gay porn
- Ohio
- Leftover Crack

Not to mention, you aren't trolling NEARLY hard enough in this thread.  Not enough paragraphs including words of 5 or more syllables to really constitute a rawr like effort.  Step up your game.

PS: Someone change Rawr's user name back to Rawr.  I look like an idiot as a result of his new user name.

Agreed, but I don't care for rawr more so for the fact that he is a beligerant faggot than anything else.

Correction... you just look like an idiot.

I would think that varies greatly by location, but good to know.

If I go through the whole UND school thing I can get a B.S. ME with an Aerospace Engineering concentration. ;D

I originally wanted to get an Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Physics degree back in the early '90s but got a little side tracked.

I have a friend that graduated with honors from georgia tech, aerospace engineer. He designs door handles on air planes. $300k degree + honors = door handles. Yep.

there is different types of "engineering"

my job title = senior software engineer

tell everyone else in the world that disagrees with you

Trashmen are called sanitation engineer's.  Job titles are something used to make people feel important.  Thats why 99% of the people who work at Wal Mart have the term "manager" in their job title.

And generally, the longer your job title the less important you are.

wal mart everyone is called an associate. very few have "manager" in the title.

industrial engineer is just a title. you don't engineer anything

I'm not too concerned with finding a job. I worked in the aerospace field part time while I was doing my MS in ME.

I know a few people at Boeing in Seattle that do similar shit. One of them works on curtains that divide first class and economy (or whatever the fuck they call coach now). Another one does "floor structures", which I found out is really just carpeting. So yeah, they're basically interior decorators with engineering degrees.
