Johnny doesn't know anything about engineering, quit obviously.

Have some of you really been required to take O-chem? I took Chem 1 and 2 which were required, but some people did take O-chem as an elective and regretted it.

Organic generally isn't required unless you are going into chemical engineering.

Okay Johnny, we got it.  You are an "Engineer" by name.  Now kindly piss off.

Unless they have a computer engineering degree I would consider them a programmer if that's what they do.

there is different types of "engineering"

All of which require, by law, a PE certification before you can call yourself by that moniker.  Because if you don't, jackbooted thugs come and violate your constitutional rights.

MBA's take about a year to get...
I guess I have a shitty concept of time.

That's why they're a joke now.  You pretty much just pay to go to school for an extra year for some letters.

Still means someone went to school and got the letters.  I still think a lot of college degrees are bullshit, but it still means someone spent 120-140 credit hours, did some amount of work, passed classes, learned something, and did it all to some unbiased person's level of satisfaction.

It depends where you want to go.  That route will lead you towards a managerial career path.  I'd much rather follow a technical career path and do my masters in engineering.  The company i work for splits it up pretty much just like that.  The managers end up managing senior engineers that make more than they do and the managers do bullshit work all day.

I'm a few months away from receiving a philosophy degree.  Don't you think I know this?

The problem with MBA degrees is that they don't actually open up as many of those doors that you're assuming that they do.  They're held in little regard because many accredited universities have programs where you blaze through the degree in a small amount of time, normally around a year, doing little work for the degree.  They were a hot ticket item for awhile, which is what caused the creation of these programs from universities trying to cash in on the rush, but it's not there anymore.  If you wanted to get a masters, picking something other than an MBA would be a better course of action as it would show that you put a little more thought into your graduate studies.

Another great course of action for an engineering student is to go into law.  If you can handle the law school, there's plenty of money to be made in patent law; however, most engineers don't pull top numbers on the LSAT and engineering programs don't tend to have the inflated GPA's that get individuals into grad school.

there is different types of "engineering"

my job title = senior software engineer

tell everyone else in the world that disagrees with you

Trashmen are called sanitation engineer's.  Job titles are something used to make people feel important.  Thats why 99% of the people who work at Wal Mart have the term "manager" in their job title.

And generally, the longer your job title the less important you are.

I generally show up about 15 minutes late, I come in the back door so Lumberg doesn't see me.  Then I just zone out... I just stare at my desk.  I do this again after lunch.  All and all I would say I do about 15 minutes of actual work.

And let me tell you something about TPS reports...

I designed, built and prove out a machine that hydroforms a carbon sleeve into a titanium runner.  I built a test rig that captures oil at points in space on a seal that is in the presidential helichoter.  and I can keep going.

Lol, What "engineering" work do you do?
