i hate that hot-rod guys finally caught on to turbo.
Hot-rod guys? Sir, callaway was building turnkey 9-second streetcars in the 80's and im sure a few others were beating around the same bush. It didnt start with imports if thats what your implying...
naw im just saying on the street we atleast had the electronics and turbo's to take em. now that they are getting some edjumacation we barely stand a chance.
It takes 387 whp in a 2500lb chassis to run a 10.00 pass. Most 387 whp imports have stock suspensions and 2.0 60' times on slicks, or even worse they spent a lot of money on poorly valved low quality china suspension anodized a gaudy color and think they've covered all the bases. A significant percentage of 387 whp domestic owners have some Quality fucking suspension under their car, and the cars hook very well. As power goes up from 387 whp you see more import owners buying brightly colored china suspension (and never have the car aligned properly), whereas the domestic guys buy even better Quality suspension bits.
Fuck overcomplicated electronics that don't do anything you need it to, and fuck turbos when you can't even launch a NA import correctly much less set up it's suspension. The import scene is traditionally really dumb, and everyone in it thinks they are hot shit. There have ALWAYS been domestics that could flay any import, at any time when you perceived imports as having a leg up over domestics "technologically" speaking, but the simple fact is when you have a car that runs 9's you don't feel the need to hunt down and impress Honda Civic owners. So the import owners think the trailerpark mullets with IROC-Z's are as good as the domestic scene gets because, as I already stated, the import scene is traditionally really dumb.
