D16 replacement motor mounts??
« on: December 08, 2009, 02:05:06 AM »

Are there any companies that make factory motor mounts for the D16a6 in an EF chasiss? My stock mounts are shit, And instead of buying new oems and doing the window weld mod, ar there any nice mount out there for a daily car that bolt the stock motor in place??

I dont need the front mount if it matters

Why would you buy new OEMs if you were going to window weld? And yes, companies do make replacements.

I was GOING to window weld, but mine have sat for 2 years, and are probly rusty (i havent been back to the car in a while) so Id rather just replace them entirely

Well I found some for $200 from innovative, but I havent seen the car in a while, so I forget what the mounts look like, but are these 3 pieces everything Id need, or would I have to use stock bracketry aswell still??

It looks like the replacement mounts will still use the the funky factory bracket on the transmission for the passnenger side mount.

The B swap mounts eliminate that piece.

the only one i have seen was where a guy modified a B tranny to fit a D block. there was no adaptor plate and i think he had a D flywheel modified to work with a B clutch.

link to adaptor?

^Friend of mine. He machined the flywheel to fit a twin. LOL. Welded the holes, and drilled/tapped his own on the engine side.

And someone make me a pair of the solid mounts! :D (Sides. ED. Seriously. My ZC isnt gangster without them.)
