I hope you haven't gone through the bottom end in the last couple years as that rerolls the crankwalk dice.  "Most" 7 bolts can handle 300whp, if it's been together for years without coming apart it can probably take 400.
Title: Re: POS DSM Project
Post by: HiProfile on October 29, 2011, 11:34:13 PM
Wasn't the crankwalk narrowed down to a very large run of bad bearings?
Title: Re: POS DSM Project
Post by: Joseph Davis on October 29, 2011, 11:42:53 PM
The 7 bolt problem is the main girdle isn't pinned to the block like every other girdle, ever.

lol wat? how the hell could they have missed that?

Even my cheap desk has alignment dowels. and it doesn't spin at 7000 rpm.

Thanks for the advice sir, and to tell you the truth I dont know if its a 7 or 6 bolt.

Flipnog said its a galant vr4 motor (well IM) so im ASSuming its a 7 bolt

While Im quoting you... Any other way to tune these fuckers other than dsmlink or standalone?

GVR-4 are 6 bolt motors.  In that chassis it's like putting a heterosexual into skinny jeans and sending him undercover to the gaybar, but whatever.

98-99 plastic case ECU is reflashable via Tactrix cable.  Also Evo8 or Lancer ECU.

yes

also, the 6 bolt engine is identifiable by the oil pan.  It will be flat across where the crank pulley is, whereas the 7 bolt ones will drop down in an arc.

and, the 7 bolts have 7 bolts.

You can run one of the Evo8 ECUs, or some of the 4cyl Eclipse/Lancer ECUs of that era.  Search thoroughly before buying, and keep in mind you have to purchase the correct KS for the ECU ($58 at the dealer).

Just an idea as the right ECU for the '97 my boss owns has been a bit of a pain to find.

Post dyno sheet?

Boost controller maxed out. I'm thinking the bov is leaking. I will post Dyno soon

1g bov bigger injectors and more boost to come.

I maxed out the stock injectors.

Non sense, stock 450s can go to like 200% duty cycle, you can get atleast 260whp out of them.
