I hope you haven't gone through the bottom end in the last couple years as that rerolls the crankwalk dice.  "Most" 7 bolts can handle 300whp, if it's been together for years without coming apart it can probably take 400.

Flipnog said its a galant vr4 motor (well IM) so im ASSuming its a 7 bolt

yes

also, the 6 bolt engine is identifiable by the oil pan.  It will be flat across where the crank pulley is, whereas the 7 bolt ones will drop down in an arc.

and, the 7 bolts have 7 bolts.

Been putting this front mount on... Had my buddys shop put the front bumper and headlights in... And this is what I discovered


Mother fuckers put bolts in under the headlights, so I had to pull the headlights (im a lazy fucker!)



Painted the pipes black

Trash can paint booth ftmfw!


As she shits now...



Funny thing is I bought these off a dude that took them off his 2g.. they dont fit worth a fuck without some fabbing..

Currently looking for a bigger turbo, injectors, black box ecu, tactrix 2.0, and fuel pump, and ill be getting tuned

You can run one of the Evo8 ECUs, or some of the 4cyl Eclipse/Lancer ECUs of that era.  Search thoroughly before buying, and keep in mind you have to purchase the correct KS for the ECU ($58 at the dealer).

Just an idea as the right ECU for the '97 my boss owns has been a bit of a pain to find.

So I do have a 6 bolt... score!

So I decided on getting the small 16g. Its actually in great condition.



Install process:



Got all the bolts off the o2 housing minus the one behind the o2 sensor, so off came the manifold.


And the bitch bolt


It was such a PITA that this is what bent....


Yes your reading that right... its a BENT MAC wrench!

So I bought some PB Blaster, and off it came. And what did I find? A broken wastegate tophat! What the fuck has my cousin done to this car????







All done:


Lower IC piping on.. ran into this little problem... already ordered a 180 silicon coupler and some t bolts


Decided to install this little gem


And I got the slim fan wired in and mounted


That is all the updates I have for now. I will keep you guys posted.

I wired up the fan right... but it didnt kick on when I drove it... Coolant was boiling when I got the car back home... So I grounded out a few wires going to the ECU and now when the ignition is ON both the radiator and condenser fans turn on

The turbo I want is a 20g its brand new for $500... I will be getting a bigger turbo + bigger injectors soon...

I got my tactrix cable, black box ecu, and fuel pump! I will update you fuckers as soon as I get that shit put in tonight

Updates havent updated this shit in a long time, but have done alot of work...

Decided to remove the 5 LBS of bullshit speaker wires...


Fuel pump install...


Good bye piece of shit fuel pump!


Flashable ECU installed with basemap + launch control flashed..


Ricer bumper finally removed (dumb fucks had it molded to the body with about 1/4 inch of fiberglass)

Yes you see a shower curtain rod holding up the hatch... fuck you!





And you can't forget the finishing touches... Gotta represent in Vegas (Heading down for a tune + drag strip tomorrow)
