well, my girl of 5 years is leaving me. i smoke pot and she hates it. its the occasional release kinda thing, and she says she cant take it anymore. we have a kid together which makes it shittier. she knew i have smoked for years and she finally freaked out yesterday. i kinda saw it coming, just hope she doesnt pull shit when it comes to our son. ugh :-\ whats weird is im not sure if i am upset that she is leaving me or if its because i feel like i let down my kid. i work hard/go to school and provide for both of them very well. i pay the rent, and most all of our bills and even slave around the house. i guess i am at my limit too. anyone else have a predicament like mine? howd you handle it?

dude, you and me are the same. thats how i roll. im not smoking when hes around, or in the house, etc. i usually do it with a friend or ill go for a lil drive. its not addiction, its wanting to calm down. i dont care to drink, gives me crazy dreams and i act odd, cigarettes are a rare occasion. shit i work 30 hours a week. i wake up at 7:30, go to work until i have to be at school. ill be at school until 10 sometimes. when i get home, i just want to relax sometimes.

this sounds accurate.. my woman puts up with all my shit, albeit she flips out on occasion, especially when I get drunk and become an asshole at random, which in turn causes her to punch me in the face. I'm a full-time student, make lousy money advertising/programming freelance style, i'm a stay at home dad w/ a 9 month old. Her and I are still great with each other. It sounds like your girl is wanting to split up for other reasons benefiting her own interest.

thats another thing in it self. i have other assets other than my income, i am set up after school to have no bills and be an engineer. i could pull the ass move. let her leave, clean up 100%, get a job out of state and take custody of our son. i know i already make more than her, have better credit and an education. if i do it before he is old enough to start making solid friendships it could work. but i dont think im the kind of guy to do that.
i have already taken the steps. i gave my boof to my friend and sold off my bowls for dirt cheap last night. maybe ill just ignore her and see how things pan out. im kinda lost here. last night when she got off work she went to bed at 8:30 and didnt say a word to me.

she may have been the reason i smoke. i used to be against the stuff entirely until she set me off a few years ago and i tried it, i went from the weekend warrior. to smoking to release stress.
those that smoke know that after so long, the intensity of the high is pretty low and the only things you shouldnt do while high is anything very precise or involves multiple tedious steps, lol.
whats weird is a dont feel bad. thats why im not groveling at her feet.
i had what i wanted to do with my life set from the time i got out of high school and some how she strayed me from that path to living a life that i dont care for. i guess i am looking at it as more of a second chance of living the life i prepared to live. i have my education, no debt and stuff set aside. i can realistically retire when im in my 40's if i plan it right and who knows, maybe live the life of a dirty old bastard with money, buying pussy and having a blast with life.
i guess i have already accepted her leaving me, just never knew when it would happen. maybe i am the pussy for never manning up and saying what i wanted out of the relationship, but the past is the past. she is who she is and i am who i am.

Accept the fact that you are a nice guy, and it's written all over you. Nothing you can do will change this.
