Locost update
« on: March 29, 2010, 09:52:53 AM »

I have not posted anything about the Locost build since my intro wanted to wait till I started doing the turbo install... So here goes.

Here is the Weir log manifold kit with the DMS T25 install and the IC piping tacked in place.

Running a walbro 190 external pump with 1.8L miata injectors, MSD timing control and RRFPR.

looks good so far.  when do you want that main hoop bent up?  i may be getting a 1.75" die set soon, so you'll have a choice from 1.5" 1.625" or 1.75".  i've got a valve cover i'd like powdercoated.

Man, I just stumbled acrost these locosts not to long ago and have been amped up on them sense.  I am hoping to get started on one as soon as I clear out some other projects.  Yours looks bitchen!  What are you using for front spindles?  Also, are you doing IFS in the rear or solid axle?

Yah, locosts are pretty badass.  I bought a book called Kimini a while back which is basically a write-up of someone else's DIY build.

Been through that entire build too.  That was an excellent car.  I am so hooked on these things now I am almost tempted to get rid of the double to make space for this.

Definitely something on my long-term list of shit to do.  First I need a garage, some money, some welding experience, etc...so it'll be a while.

I do not think I have ever seen one built with a d-series motor.  I think the only Honda motor I have ever seen used is an S2000.

The front spinals are from the Miata and I am running the whole rear subframe out of the miata so it's IRS.

The only d series I have seen are that locost ariel atom from a 2000 ex and a sand rail on hater tech. And the rail was done very poorly.  Yours is looking very good though. Keep it up
