I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

I was planning to use the DDM cheapness kit in some Mazda projector housings retrofitted into a KC Daylighter housing for the Rally Corolla. 3500K FTW.

Heat your headlights in an oven @ 200 degrees for 30 minutes, the glue that holds the clear lens on will loosen enough to gently seperate the enclosure.  The diffusor is right in front of the low beam bulb, remove it.  Respray with that headlight repair stuff if the reflective background is dull or has started to flake.  Put the headlight back together, seal with RTV if you like.

Take a high beam bulb and modify it so it slips in place of the low beam bulb.  A small pair of nippy cutters and less than two minutes does the trick.

Re-aim your headlights.  They are a lot brighter, go further, and the brightness is well diffused so you can see way off to the sides.  No one confuses them for high beams, but I've been in some cars whose high beams aren't as good as my low beams.
right on, another project for me to tackle

Did you ever do this?

And, FYI, I experienced a set of aftermarket HID projectors in an ED that were amazing.  IDK how the owner didn't get ticketed, whenever he hit a bump and the lights raised up it would blind deer for 4.2 miles.

putting HIDs in my bmw made a HUGE difference - projector headlights with HIDs and proper cutoff/aiming = waaaaaay more lighting then any other bulbs I have had in any other car. even with a cheap kit, do the rest of the shit right and you will benefit.

I want to get the fx35 copy, aka FX-R. Stuff into an EG headlight, get another EG for a winter beater and enjoy year-round pwnlights.

When a new Hyundai rolls by at night and your car casts a shadow in your own headlight beams, you know better lights are in order...

I like my cheapness DDM tuning kit.  Got it in piss-yellow 3000k, which has the added benefit of police not realizing that they are HIDs, and also seems to blind people less.  Also, 55W HIDs are completely unnecessary.  A 35W kit puts out way more light than stock.

No I haven't yet. I hardly drive at night so it hasn't been a top priority. It's definitely on the list though, I'll get it done soon. For now by eBay 6K HIDs will have to do.

meh, the greenish got annoying, even more so when a bulb went out.  I really would have prefered to have them light up white, but blue is easier on these.  Basically I thought it was cool at the time, and they are LEDs so I wont have to replace them.  Don't really notice them now.

Yellow lights are for fog lights, not head lights.

For the same reason they work well as fogs, they work well as low beams.  Cuts right through rain, snow, and fog.  I didn't do it to impress anybody.  Cost less than silverstars, and they have already lasted longer.  I like them, if you don't, don't get a set for your car.  Its also nice to not get bothered by the police.

Anyways, I've had the HID kit since november, I drive at night a lot, and haven't had an issue with them.

Also: FUCK YOU!

fx35's are bi-xenon, meaning hi/lo. The cutoff thing flips out of the way via solenoid/motor.

They're no more expensive than any other HID's. They're barely bigger than the smallest, which I like since my air filter is between the driver's headlight and cruise control box. I trained myself to run low beams all the time, so I'm not really sure why I want it. I guess it's because it's barely more to get the most functional setup.

After almost running over a peice of rolled up carpet on the freeway at night because i couldnt see it in time with the stock lights, I installed 2 55w ddm hids. I put them in a retrofit projector housing. It blinds the shit out of people so they usually get the fuck out of the way.

I use the super white light bulbs for like $10usd/pr in my stock headlight housings and they work great.

The only complaint I have is when using white in a blizzard it sux seeing, because it reflects back worse. :?:

you know its not a projector and instead a peice of curved glass that just kinda hangs there in front of the bulb and there is no reflector at all infact its black plastic. and its a 9004 bulb that doesnt even shine out the top of it.
just look at it closely

you can buy actual sealed beam projectors from hella but last time i checked they were 500+ a peice

Yeah, I'm going to use the lights.  The seats are probably a C+ grade... feel great, no tears, but leather is cracking pretty well since they left the windows down in the car for about a year.  They aren't supposed to be for sale, they go with the engine into the '71 Datsun, but money talks.

Oh, yeah, 81K trans is available if you know anyone who needs one.
