tuning dry shoot
« on: October 31, 2011, 11:10:55 AM »

Ok the set up

lsv
e85
750cc injectors
turbo 8 psi
40 shot dry

Tuned out fine with out the shot. When I activate the shot it just brakes up. Have tried changing timing and fuel with no effect. It ether brakes up bad or back fires. Was told maybe I need different spark plugs with spray? Any other ideas?

Well Mister Rabuck, that depends on what plugs are in the car, doesn't it?

What are your plugs gapped to?  China/OEM/aftermarket ignition?  What wires?

E85 and only 8psi, I would figure 7's would be plenty. Then again, if it has a shitty ignitor or coil, no amount of Plug changing will fix that.

All stock and ngk stuff. Still on an heat range 6 gaped at .030 they are reading ok dont look to be over heating but should I go with a shorter ground strap? The shot holds for about 2 seconds pulls hard then brakes up no matter what I do.

Could be ignition system but it holds up 8 pounds fine. We start the spray out of boost 3600 rpms, tp 85% or above. We get to about 2 pounds before shit hits the fan.

I run .020 on 7's on my miata, worked fine with a 100 shot N/A, works fine with with 15-20lbs. Idles smoother with .040 gap though, but won't boost past like 3 psi....

I was thinking of a dual-gap plug the other day. Maybe that will be the next invention once turbos are on every small econobox. That or rediculous ignition systems.
