new b/p build. 97 mtd chassis too much bs to list. just know ive got a vanguard that will make 50hp on gas going in it. front and rear brakes the whole shebang.

i lose interest at that point. the cool thing about lawnmower racing to me is making something that was meant to do 3-4mph go 30mph. its sketchy as hell cause the brakes suck, the steering geometry is stupid, and the center of gravity is way off.

its still very much a lawn tractor, still uses factory style belt drive with push pull clutch, must use mower turf tires, must use a lawnmower engine. this class is a verticle vtwin of not more than 20hp. internal mods are unlimited but must retain stock outward appearance. the chassis is all mower with some 1x1 and 3x4 box steel reinforcement for rigidity. trust me it rides like a mower. uses a walk behind mower tranny, and all mower sheetmetal

yea custom aluminum pullies and a aramid cord belt. i run a billet ball b earing push pull clutch and a HEAVY clutch spring. yes it holds.

hogged out 40ci vanny intake mani with modded flanges
40ci intek 2bbl carb rejetted bored with new throttle plates and some secret sauce that i wasnt even told about.
shaved heads for comp kart fuel pump and some other shit im probably forgetting. but stock 16hp motor will roll almost 50hp on gas

What sort of setups do the "unlimited"? mowers use? i remember watching them on tv and they had cent. clutches and shit.

I'd guess 50-100% stock redline.

I'm curious if you're restricted to belts. Chains take less power to run.

yes my class is restricted to belts a push pull clutch and a shiftable transmission of lawnmower origin.

my motor will be a 8k rpm motor. stock gov is set at 3650

the class you saw was the f/x class. anything goes motor must be 465cc or less single cyl ohv. fastest mowers u can run. problem is noone runs em around ct so i built a b/p

If you want to be a double amputee

to hit high speed with a stock engine you have to really gear it up. 10 or 11 to 4 pulley ratios. Aka 3x speed to the blades, 6x to the rear, etc. Remove the blades first... Lol

rolling chassis is done and wired. small odds and ends left. finish work. think the rig came out well. now sitting back and waiting for the magic from ron at Ace race engines to arrive in the mail... common big hp. yee haw!

the big hp ones are just like a fast turbo honda. you know the feeling you get when u rip it... honestly the most fun ive had, this tractor will rip and handle and stop should propel me to a class championship. well see... thanks man
