Want more torque?

Just boost it.  :noel:

Boost is the constant in the equation!  ;DDD

My bro had a b16b in a EK hatch for a while, it was still fast. Yes it made more noise than power, but if you're a ricer and like vtec-crossover noise - it's the perfect engine.

Best way to go is to sell the b16b first. Some JDM idiot will be willing to trade a full gsr swap for it. Or you can sell it. Then find a tired B18A/B with a good crank, get pistons/rods, rehone & rebuild, then enjoy. Later you can swap on a vtec head. If you can get a GSR longblock, do that instead. A 60trim T3 will make any 1.8L feel like it has lots of power.

One thing about turbo's and B's, torque always blows away peak power. IIRC Jeff Evans posted 2 identical turbo kits going on a b16 and an LS. B16 made more power, LS ran faster at the track. And I think the LS even had the LS tranny.

I know I didn't post that for a while, but I had a good running B18A1 before I decide to trash my 92 Teg. Now the motor is in parts because I wanted to see how the internal was after one year running.

I do have a fully built b18 head with "big" cams, forged piston/rod, honed/bored block B18A1.

I don't need a tired one haha. I really like the B18A1 for the torque. It's pulling very well even bellow 2000rpm. You would floor it at 2000rpm and it's like if you were at 3500-4000 on a stock motor. High rpm was nice too of course.

Gonna pick it up tomorrow night. Can't wait! I miss driving an Integra for some reason.

Well, seems like it's a real B16B, but with a Y21 transmission. Header is not cracked but crushed because the car is too dropped. It was to be expected at that price.

Ride is ok, bumping around because of too much drop, motor choking because of crushed header. I was able to drive 1 hour without any trouble. That a fucking must.

Ok it took me and my brother in law 3 fucking hours to install 4 tires because of the drop and the snow/ice/water around the car. The guy was no help and he is a drug dealer from what I understood of his conversation.

Would have preferred a stock car but the car is legit, serial everywhere by honda: hood, fenders, doors, trunk. I didn't expect that. It not rust free but almost no rust. hidden in some weird places.

Sorry for picture quality. It was 2am and I took some beer.

I don't know if you can see it from the first picture, but the fenders are not fully aligned with the doors. I wonder if the front was not smashed and caused the front end to bend a bit...

Those car are sexy as fuck  ;DDD

Oh and there was no windshield washer left and it was not raining enough to clean the windshield.

At some point I think I had 1"x1" spot to see the road. I prefer to drive drunk than without windshield washer...

Pull one of the CV-axles and look thru the differential, if you you see a pin then no, if no pin thin yes you have an LSD.

Or drive on deep snow with good deep tread tires.

Hit the gas and see if you are getting traction and can go straight.  :noel:

Or go to that drive way you were showing us a while back w/ lots of ice and see if you can go up it.  :noel:

i have know two people that have bought cars with orange engine bays like that. dont think either where that bad tho. anyway one under some suggestion of mine grabbed a couple wire brushes and hit up all orange he could see and reach, then said he was pretty sure he would pull the motor in the winter to get the rest LOL.
another one replaced all the bolts with new hardware, mostly new from Honda...

I think that's why they invented sand blast. Good thing I have a sand blast cabinet.

I'm redoing the complete exhaust. Seems like my 92 exhaust fits really nice on the 99. It just sucks that I have to cut my perfectly aligned downpipe to fit the header tho...

I never open my hood to present my good looking motor anyway since my motor doesn't look good.

I can't care less about rusted bracket and bolts.

I could have put penetrating oil on it and you would never have said that comment. But it still rusted  ::)

er if its from this area the rust is usually to bad to just wire brush off. There's always bolts that break and round because there's not enough metal left.  His bay doesn't look that bad I've seen cars with shock towers that are rusted out and all kinds of crazy bullshit.

My Protégé is is as bad as you describe it. Mount tower, motor mount bolts that break, etc.

The Integra looks brand new compare to the Protégé

Huh? I still have 50k$ of debt a 400k$ house to pay and right now I have 600$ in my bank account.

So no, giving my financial situation, I cannot afford to do it right the first time.

You know the difference between ppl like you and ppl like me? I love to drive my car on a daily basis. I don't want to drive it in 1 or 2 years because the bolts are rusted. And after your 2 years project that you didn't drive it, you drive it for 2 months 2 times a week and you want to sell it because it's not suitable for a daily drive or you broke something on it because you didn't do it right the first time.

Btw, I do all this for me, I almost never open my hood and I never go to events with it.

Don't get me wrong, I'll fix every single spot of rust Isee on the body. Rust on the body is unacceptable. But rust on the bracket and bolts?

I drove my 92 teg for 1 year with the new motor and enjoyed every fucking day going to work with it. I could have wait 1 year to finish it, but that's not what I want. I want to fucking drive it, easy and simple.

Btw number 2, I don't pass a lot of time on my car compare to some here. I built and install my last motor in 2 months on weekends from all parts to driving back home. If you consider that a long time then something is wrong with you.

Oh and fuck you!

That's just crazy u guys have that much rust. Is it from the salt they put on the roads?

Lot of salt and humidity.

Lol, I feel the same way as you frenchy. You can turn around and ask why so few in Washington have a legit lic/reg'd R32-R34 GTR from Japan.

I know I'm never spending >$5k on an old Civic/Teg that I'll only drive for 1000 miles. You guys would have more fun spending that money on a quad or jetski.

I don't know what I liked seeing more, the amount it was smashed, the hack job the previous owner did, or the fluxcore madness that seems to have fixed it.

I only give you 8/10 because at that point you should have made it a 4-1 elephant turbo manifold.

The point is that I wanted to drive it yesterday and I did. Objective reached ;)

And honestly I prefer my ramhorn. In fact I wanted to use my ramhorn as a header but I had no extra pipes for the downpipe and couln't find the plate that would become the T3 adapter so I said fuck off and used the pipes that were supposed to be the dump pipe of the wastegate to fix the header temporary.

I still have a huge leak, but it's just the section where the cat should be that I just clamped instead of welded in case I have to remove the header. Otherwise I'll have to cut the pipe again to remove it and it's not super fun to do. I'll try to find an alternative fix.

Also, the ECU is OBD2 so I'll have to buy the adapter before I can install the turbo. That was the big turn off of why I didn't install the turbo... that and I wanted to see if the motor was ok N/A before I get it boosted.

I don't know what happened seriously, but the oil pan was hit too.

But the car is really too low and the suspension not very good so any big bump would cause header to hit the ground...
