Here is what I worked on and off this last winter, we just finally had it out to the dyno middle of this week.
Yes I suck at taking pics as I go, so there are weird leaps, and missing shit, but until someone comes just to hangout and take pics this is as good as it gets. My phone is the only camera I own.
I still need to find a picture of it before I modded it at all, but I don't seem to have one, I will ask around and maybe add that at a later date.
Here is where I started, I had already added that abortion of a longer aluminum tube off of that turbonetics t66. Prior to that there was a short silicone 2.5->3" hose that kept splitting, and eventually caused us to run over the charge pipe at 140mph. That abortion, was just a temporary thing to get it through 1 sled pulling event.
Here is the intake manifold before I pulled it off the truck, the niggers that put it on there couldn't read a torque wrench and cracked it, I spent a lot of time repairing those cracks, but like lots of things didn't bother to take pictures:
Here is where I went with it:
Here is the new secondary turbo (billet wheel s476):
Here is what I had to make for a cover so it would all fit:
One of the biggest complaints of the old system (besides all the leaks, and blown silicone couplers) was how hard it was to work on, and remove the turbo's when needed, so here is where I went with that, starting with the new hotpipe:
Now that we don't have to support that S500 (billet 105mm) from the engine hoist (weighs about 80lbs) anymore, we can start on wastegates and charge piping (I really did a poor job of taking pics here) also some parts ready to go to ceramic coating:
Fast forward to done, or almost done, as the last few weeks of the build I took no pictures. I had too much going on and the few minutes that I had to work on it, I did just that work:
All of that work was rewarded when we hit the dyno (mustang dual roller eddy brake), and put this up, with obvious tire spin (see video):
The best the truck had done previously on the same dyno was 1170hp corrected (not sure of the uncorrected number that day, but that is what I go by, corrected numbers don't mean shit)
Here is a video of the best pass to date:
Ragged Edge Racing, Edmonton NHRDAThey are going to the track tonight to do some shake down passes, but the real test will be at the beginning of June in Mission for the BD trucking nationals. Hoping to knock out some Low 9's. I will also try to find a good sled pulling video.
Some quick specs on the Truck:
-2005 quad cab short box 4wd
-Current weight 6800lbs
-Tuned with Smarty SSR (by me) will goto efi live as soon as released.
-Spool rear, Eaton E-Locker front.
-Lowered about 4"
-All steel and real glass, other then the hood, which turned out to weigh as much as the stock hood, and looks silly in my opinion. Power window's still work, but other then that the interior consists of a cage and two race seats.
