UI's 703hp Purple beast - She is injured
« on: April 18, 2009, 08:57:49 PM »

Alright since I havent posted this in awhile, after I smashed out 11.75@115mph on the stock LS I have decided that the big motor will be built again this year because that motor/turbo combo wasnt really all that fast. I will post updates as they come. I am going to put my dash back in and find a place to put that HVC-2 Coil because it is fucking HUGE. Like take down a small mexican gang in a dark ally styles.

New motor will consist of

9:1 CR
ACL bearings
84mm cp pistons/rings
GE HG
2.0L Bensen sleeved GSR block
Purple EG ect. ect.
skunk2 pro1 cams
HOPEFULLY ported head with ferrea valves supertech springs/retainers

Cleaning off the beast after this years snowfall

new mod  was some dynamat - I ordered another 100ft box of the b-quiet extreme for the car so I dont have to wear earplugs this year.

Cleaning up some wiring and mounting the new digital 6 box.
Everything set at 0 except for the rev limiter which I put at 9900rpm for a safety net

Painting some intercooler so that it doesnt look as tacky. Painted it flat black.

laskey did end of sending me

new pistons/rings/bearings

4 new valves and a new retainer - as far as I know he said he sent them.

He wasnt going to do much when I first talked to him but after talking about how coming from his fathers and companies reputation he needs to take care of this situation. He decided that he was going to help me out. Lucky for me.

Except supertech said it wasnt their problem no fault by their valves

i'm diggin the install location of the msd box, just make sure it doesn't get hot in there or have radio interferance.  coil needs to be mounted at least a a few inches away from the box more is better (also to avoid interference with msd box).

are you lightening the dash at all?  is there going to be access to the msd from your glove box or a ninja style hole of any kind?

[edit]  my vote is mount the coil on the firewall, inside or out whatever works better, inside with a ''through firewall'' adapter would look hella clean from the engine bay.

boo eh nice faux hawk. how much did the box of dynamat cost?

100ft roll was $175 dollers and its b-quiet extreme what I ordered.

The dynamat box was a half box and it was free from a friend.

Nice, whats with the 2 turbos?

How much does the dynamat weigh?

One was the one off my first GSR block then LS setup and now going to highroller The big one is the turbo I am going to use for my car.

and shipping weight on 100ft is 30lbs

yeah I'm with Mathis I like the coils mounted on the firewall in the engine bay.

Now i am trying to figure out where to put this fucking piece of shit. Not alot of room under there you know.

something like this give you an idea?

where is the catchcan going to fit in there? Andy P figures I should put it inside the firewall then run either 1 long wire or 1 M<->M then 1 F<->M connecting at the firewall

so I ended up using about 60 feet of this stuff. Double & triple layered in some spots. I went overboard but I am scepticle of this stuff actually working. So here you go. Finished the front half with partial trunk and under the foam on the foot(on the firewall) I am done for now.

$500 worth of dynamat

$134US of B-Quiet extreme. That would have been more than $500 of dynamat

Full exhaust with no interior still required ear plugs in that thing, it was nasty loud. Apparently 4" exhaust doesn't quiet down shit it just moves the exhaust from the downpipe to the back of the car.
