Well, time has come for me to do some work. 1st thing was to build a car dolly. That way I could move the car around in my garage.
So now thats done, it's time to attack the brakes, pulled apart and inspected.
ll looks good, but I'm going to replace all 4 wheel cylinders, rubber lines, and go to a dual master cylinder instead of the single jelly jar style.
So went to work on the brakes last night. Pulled the fronts apart. Came apart real easy. But the bearings are fucked. So it's time to replace those. The grease is all dried up and turned to adhesive. Supper sticky, and hardened up.
Rock auto for the brake parts....
Pulled the hub, but the bearing was stuck on from the old grease. So had to soak it in brake cleaner.
The rears were cake to do. All I'm doing is inspecting, and replacing the wheel cyl., and all the rubber lines. The fluid that came out of the lines actually looked pretty good.
And this job was brought to you by a bowl of home made spaghetti and meatballs, and a 6 pack of beer..
So today, I need to replace the rubber line from the body, to the rear axle. And go pick up the front wheel bearings Also going to go get a running 327, that I'm trading a 3 speed that I have for, and trading another friend a backup b18 that I have for a freshly rebuilt th400 transmission.
