There are lots of places I will make sacrifices the bottom end isn't one of them. If I can see copper color the bearing is done.

Well I bought total seal mains, hasting rings, lower end gasket set, MLS head gaskets, and some other random bits and pieces. Hope to have the lower end together by next weekend.

So last night got the new fuel tank installed and started to bleed the brakes. Still got air to get out, but its now starting to build some pressure at the pedal.

well, today I went and ripped through my excess pile of parts I have stored in storage. Looks like I dug up a front sump oil pan that I need for the nova, about 3x as many wiring harness than I need, the hood latch, wiper motor, and a excess of other things I will need when the time comes. But for now I got the wiring, and an oil pan. The pulleys and other shit will come next week. Got a bunch or tracking numbers for shit that is suppose to show up this week. Gonna try and get the lower end together by the end of the weekend.

Today got the block done completely scrubbed down clean, along with the crank, wd40'ed up and bagged waiting for the bearings seals and rings!

So my step dad dropped off a little present for me this morning......lol something he acquired for a future project. That I'll probably use for now.

Once I remove the screw on the side, the block off plate comes off and it has a port for 2 injectors on the rear, and 2 on the front. I will still probably fire it up with the carb, seeing as how I don't have any injectors around big enough to work for this project, but I figure once I boost it it will need a different set up anyways.

Well, gapped the rings out the other night. Top ring was between .016-.019 so after some research and a little advice I opened the top ring up to .025-.026 and the second ring from .021-.023 I plan on probably breathing on this thing with a hx52 by the end of summer. So just planning ahead. Also slapped my new main bearings in and checked tolerance. Was .0015 across the board, and end play was .005 so I slammed the rods, pistons, cam, and timing chain on tonight.

Ordered total seal bearings, federal mogul showed up and the bearings were marked clevite 77...lol can you sat 1985 stock?

Gonna probably order up a oil pump this weekend, and paint the block. Finish bleeding the brakes, and start the tear down of the heads to freshen them up.

Brakes are done being bleed. What fucking stubborn bitch they were. Half a gallon of fluid later. And I'm sure there is still some air trapped in there somewhere. Got the heads tore down. The valve stem seal on the #3 intake valve was fucked. So Ive ordered a full set of valve stem seals, and some spark plugs. Got a 12hr work day tomorrow, so no work will be done on it tomorrow, But I plan to have the block completely assembled, and ready to drop in next weekend and start fabbing up the transmission cross member. Going to a automotive swap meet next weekend so I dont know If Ill get it dropped in, but I sure as hell am going to try.

So today I .......

Installed rear main seal, cleaned the carbon off the heads, and valves, got the paint stripped off one of the heads, and also cleaned the head surface. So tomorrow, I need to pick up some more paint stripper, and strip paint and clean the surface of the other head.

Now Im just waiting for my valve stem seals. Not gonna make any more purchases of any parts until after the automotive swap meet this weekend. Just in case someone there might have what I need.

Valve stem seals show that they should be here today. Also cleaned up the other head yesterday and its all ready to go. Cleaned the valve covers up, and spec my cam out. It's a pretty lame cam, so if I run accords a good one this weekend I think I'll pick it up. But here are the specs for it from what I found to be the closes one online,

204/214 in/ex @.050 110* separation .423/.446 in/ex with 1.5 rocker from what I've read its almost the same as the 80's lt1 cam. Power from 1200-4800

yea thats a pretty stock cam.

summit racing has a good mid range cam for $99 with lifters, or maybe 119 but its around 100. i have one in my truck they are nice, much better than stock. they are still less than half an inch of lift i think

Well I'm going to the auto swap meet at the fairgrounds tomorrow, so I hoping I can possible pick something up there. If not, I'll run this for now, and upgrade later.

So parts
Hei dizzy with coil and Msd wires $32 shipped,

Motor all claened and ready for some heads.

Got the heads on, copper sprayed the head gaskets, just for giggles, and then rtv on the head bolts and torqued everything down. Now just waiting to see if I pick up a new cam tomorrow b4 I drop lifters and pushrods in and lock Shit down. And paint.

Ok, so not much happening at the swap meet, but I did pick up a junk dizzy to cannibalize to prime my motor with for $5, got a brand new craftsman dial back timing light for $10. And last but not least MY MUTHA FUCKIN Z28 WHEELS 6 wheels, 5 have tires for $100

!

Car is still sitting on dolly here so once I put it down it should fill the wheel well a lot better.

So then I came back home ordered up some new lifters, dizzy hold down bracket, oil pump, and pump pickup, engine dip stick tube and dipstick, trans dipstick tube and dipstick, wheel center caps, and a whole bunch of other Shit. So parts should be rolling in pretty hard here next week.
