I know. I'm just fucking with ya. Most all the other nova owners here got a house before a nova. House then wife then nova then kids then no money to build nova.

oops. forgot the update...... i installed the GSR cluster!. i sold the ITR cluster. the one that came with the car was cobbled together broken junk.  this GSR cluster was the wrong year (94...or 96), so i had to swap the back case, some indicators, bulbs, etc. its outlined somewhere on the internet if your having trouble.

anyway i bolted it into the car. put the column covers back on. i assume i took them off to put the SRS reel back in?... and need to find my torx bit to put the air bag bolts back in.

i need to find a battery to steal/swap that will be good enough to get this car down the road, aka sold. i dont want to buy a new one (i would put the new one in the CX, one in there is only year or so old into DC4)...  :Jew:

Re: turbohf DC4 Integra build... **ok wtf?? need some help....**
« Reply #221 on: April 11, 2015, 06:14:20 PM »

ok so im working on this thing today.

this pile sounds kinda shitty. little valve noise sounds, little puttering sounding (like low compression). smokes. compression is kinda low at 170-170-150-160. it was 180 across around dyno time. and havent seen it smoke till i put this head on.

i pulled the head off. i see no signs of valve contact. all the valves LOOK seated.

all cam journals have some wear, but not looking excessive at all.

wtf do i do? suggestions? questions? i want this thing together the way it was at dyno time. want to done cheap obviously. and i want it to be sold. need as much money as possible. wont part it out anymore. so im not gonna source a new/different/whatever motor or other shit, unless 10000% necessary.

pull the head apart and lap some valves? drop the fuck at the machine shop call me when its done? pull pistons/rods to check ringslands?.....???

fuck.

If you already have the head off do a quick lap job and slam it back together. What cams are you running again?

oh yeah. seals. i fuckin hate doing valve seals. plus i dont think i have any for P75 head. they use some odd seal (old accord part number) and are expensive as fuck. every other honda head uses the same seals that are like cheap OEM... i should look. i think i have bought 2 gasket sets. only remember doing one...maybe 2 heads, and one was OEM seals forsure cuz i remember spending x2 as much on them.

thinking i should pull some pistons out. but thats gonna turn into a BITCH. space is so tight. i dont want to pull the downpipe off cuz its up against the AC compressor and no room. its always a mess pulling pan/dropping pistons.
but down 30psi on that one cylinder?!?! damnit. the 10's i dont give a shit, thats acceptable. could be cold motor not wanting to pump up.  :-X :-\ :'(

yeah. that's where I'm at... thinking I'm gonna lap the valves first. but really at this point I'm probably doing it either way just to make sure and know.

I have no reason to believe that there has ever been any detonation on this motor.

maybe the head wasn't flat? I didn't bother to see if there was a hydrocarbon leak in cooling system. smoke I seen was blue for sure.
