glad someone is motivated! lol.  actually i have been stressing on other items of life.

i worked on my DD truck though. 3 broken exhaust bolts (into head, flanges where mint) making some noise. what a whore to do, and in the truck. one came out easy as it was fresh break, 2 on drivers side (front most, rear most) where a bitch, just like the nova one... replaced gaskets with OEM GM, bolts with some Dorman's.
oh and i put lowering shackles on the rear a week or 2 ago. "level kit" as they call it. no more wicked rake.

I broke three taking the stock headers off mine too. Those bastards are brittle as fuck. I replaced them with stainless  hex bolts and anti seized the fuck out of them. I think I broke the exact same bolts too.

i have no new pics. and i have done pretty much nothing in 6months.

but i did buy a junkyard floor shifter i think/hope will work just fine.

i currently have a big ass mess of engine harness. well the harness is down to fighting weight, the mess is everywhere else lol. i bought several wiring things to hopefully make it all look tidy and not hacked.  :mexi:

thats the stock truck harness btw. plan is back to using OE 99-00 truck ecu/harness with HPTuners.

fuel tank, lines, filter, etc. are all sorted if i remember right.  might need some more zipties (or actual brackets) and verify that the fittings are all tight...

note: buy fire extinguisher for car.

anyway. plan is to make some progress soon. i have 3 more pairs of 235 tires that need slaying. plus the 245s on the wheels...and the 17s for the Nova even new are half as much as the 18s on the G8.

just re-read this thread the other day.
How well did those ebay brackets fit the disc brakes to stock spindles? I almost impulse bought them.
Where did you get a rack so cheap?

they fit fine. i still have them too. make offer.
the big pain was turning down the hubs.

ebay? for the rack. did i not post a link?... WAIT. no i bought that bastard at ORielly's. i walked right in and they had it on the shelf. im sure it will go bad at some point, but it is lifetime warranty. so ehh. its for like a Fox body mustang/t-bird, or even a sn95 (mustang guys seem to like those better) will work.
im a pussy and wanted power steering, i want to say AJ bought his manual rack on ebay for little bit less than i paid? and probably a shitton less complicated in the end.

they're $34 off ebay, what do you want to mail them across the country to 16052?

Figured the rack out, you guys use the mustang II and everyone for the 68-72 seem to use the pinto racks.
Still only $120 off ebay.

from the info i have found it seems the racks are all pretty much interchangeable from 73 up to like 97. the mounting point just moves on one side about an inch. thats why all the "MII suspension" crossmembers are all slotted. pretty sure the part number i used interchanges for a late 80s early 90s Tbird.
pinto = mii = bobcat... all the same car.

oh yeah i was going to share some pics... not sure if its progress or an update, as its neither really... just current state of things...

i cleaned up... less shit on the NOVA, and in the trunk, etc.

ok still bunch of shit inside the back seat...

spoon wheel might be going on the NOVA ;)... seriously tho. you can also see the new floor shifter just sitting there, think i will try to get some buckets in the car before mounting it. yellow box is some bushings for the G8.

well, i HAD plenty of room to work. (lies, there was shit there before i had to move out the way to work)

found part number for this badass oem ecu bracket (s10 or something) stock truck ecu snaps right in.

oh yeah, PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO YOUR HARNESS FOR YOU... not that bad, but still time consuming.

can you even see wtf im doing in these pics? im trying to tuck the ecu under/beside the brake master, but not in the way of the suspension or steering...it fits. and i think i can get the plus out if needed.

trash bag box is actually a battery...obviously. the box im holding is a 6 relay/fuse box. was cheap as fuck off amazon. looks like it might be legit and tidy.

also got some other battery lugs, and another small fuse block for aux shit i might use too.

think the engine harness is mostly sorted. need to put IAT plug on, and make sure the MAF shit i cut out isnt needed lol. then wire in the fuse/relay box stuff.

so i have been watching some vids and getting a little motivated.

i didnt feel like messing with the wiring or little engine things (that i should probably be doing). felt that the motivation i had was larger? and i needed a bigger project? or i just wanted to take some more shit apart and grind...

cut out about 3" or so. cleaned up the ends, tappered them. but did not weld them as i dont have gas, or some angle iron to hold them. the section i cut out had the spring perch and i cut off one of the 4link mounts, forgot to do the other as i was focusing on the long slide. and i also stripped it down completely obviously. picture taken shortly after it fell of the jackstands  ::)
note: calipers, and brackets are light...rest of that shit is heavy. axles, diff, housing...all adds up to one heavy mofo.

oh yeah.

so those are the parking brakes shoes... guess i wont be bothering with hooking that crap up for now (ok probably ever). ill just let the parking pall hold her in place (works fine in the truck and G8)...
also, the factory parking brake handle was broken (and i didnt like it anyway, think i tossed it). i have an idea of how i would do the parking brake, but maybe ill get to it later. worry about getting her on the road.

i dug out the other short axle i got at the junkyard like a year ago.

work...

worked on my downpipe and wastegate recerc. im not sure i have ever put the wastegate back into a downpipe before? pretty happy with how it turned out. i just need to figure out how the exhaust is going to go and exit the car. then i can weld in the other v-band, and header wrap it all up....also hide my built from scraps mess lol.

rear end coming together. axle tube welded back on.

welded the subfame connectors. what a bitch. not sure if the metal just didnt want to weld or bad ground.

i have been doing stuff with the wiring... had to dig out/find the stock engine/bag harness' and look them over, then find wiring diagram for them. going to cut them up and integrate them to the LS harness.
also was going around and buttoning up other 80% completed projects. and looks like i have added another project, but ill wait a bit before posting that ;)

My sub frame connectors were a pai to weld up too. I think it was the undercoating that was next to all my welds. I just turned it up hotter and let her burn!!

so i just noticed we are approaching 3 years... yeah...

i sold my wheels this weekend. you might think thats an issue, but its been on stands for 2 years i think? so, not really.

did i mention that they dont fit the front anymore? front suspension changes have pushed them about an inch out (tire fully tucked and against the fender) and with the narrowed rear...anyway. sold them for what i had into them i think.

plan is...well its pending. but wide wheels, wide tires. and shits probably going to rub. the look will be "more modern".

ok so i did some work today....

hopefully final assy on:
bolted the turbo down
oil line out
was having issue with the hot side of the turbo, because someone put it at 2JZ/JDM angle  ::)  but tossed old plan, cut/weld/shit works.
i redid the inner fender again a couple weeks ago, did undercoat on both sides. got passenger side installed... actually still needs bottom bolts.
cleaned some stuff up on drivers side in prep.
got drivers side chargepipe FOUND and sorted lol. was looking for something else and was like "well this looks important"... got it all clamped up, and the intercooler. painted those clamps.
OH.. and the oil dipstick that i bought, fought with slightly. then just abandon... i dont like the lokar style ones. wanted metal tube. so i dug this out (ok found it when looking for other crap, then remembered i never sorted it). i bent, bent, swore at it, bent some more. hammered. painted, made a bracket for it,  and bracket to zip tie the #8 wire off downpipe.

you read all that? sorry. lol

im working on this shit, hopefully i dont need to take any of it back off, and hopefully i can figure how to put it back together...

oh i have been working on wiring also. ill need to take some pics of my fuse box. spending way too much time on it.

more progress...

couple shots of how i mounted the ECU in the engine bay. its on that S10 ecu bracket i pictured a while back. tucks in there mint.

it started raining so i started putting stuff away, forgot to take some pics for you guys.

body lines are kinda a bitch. even more so when you loose your damn shims. and of course if you remember one of my first pics of me just tossing bolts in a Tupperware, those are easy to track down too. but i got it damn good. probably better than it was before. might try to adjust it a little more once its on the ground.

i was looking at the car thinking that a coolant puke tank might be a good idea, but wasnt sure how to fit it, or what to buy... then i found this little guy. drill hole in cap, put hose from radiator cap to bottle, done. and it was free.

looks like im out of pics.... i might be picking some wheels up tomorrow, so that will be cool. did i say i sold my old ones? they didnt fit... these probably wont either...
