Only way I can think to check it is to use a snap gauge to measure the bores of the bearings at different angles to check for out-of-roundness, and mike the snap-gauge to get your measurements. Would be a pain in the ass, no doubt. But worth checking IMO. Seems most people don't check it, and spinning bearings seems to be more common on hondas than some other vehicles.

I wouldn't say that. Might have to be the people slapping together motors :P.

It was over my friends house, and yes it was fucking cold! We set the ring gap to .018 for top ring and .020 for the lower, yes they are vitaras. The reason for the loser ring gap is the plans for the motor. Once everything is together and running good, the car will be brought to JD. Want to see what it will make at 30-35psi and maybe a 100shot :noel: Whats shady about the engine build? All specs have been check to make sure they where fine, everything was super clean.

What I do to make bottom end assembly easier is find an old girdle and cut out everything but the outter caps on each end and install it. Put my rods in, torque. Remove the 2 caps and install the real girdle.

You know I thought about that, even had a old junk one to hack up..... Oh to late now lol.

Only update is the motor is still not together, between working 30 hours a week and going to school full time its hard to find time. I also want to take the time and clay the motor as per JD instructions to see how far the cam can be push before hitting the valves.

Well went to through in the last bearing last night. Put it in and once again a fuck bearing. Took a better look at the crank and there is a small nick, in the journal thats fuck up 2 bearings. Looks like I need to pull the crank and get another one. Good thing is I have a back up crank. Don't know if this happen at the machine shop or some where in between there and the place im building the motor.......

Anyways hope to be doing some work to the crx to get her prep. Can't wait until it starts getting warmer.

a fuck bearing as in spun a bearing?

There was a nick in the crank that could almost not be seen, shit ate the bearing.

next time you go to lap the valves. DO NOT PUT THE DRILL DIRECTLY ON THE VALVES, use a piece of vacuum line on the valve that is 5-6 inches long and then put the other end in the drill. You probably trashed your guides doing it that way.
