So since the last update the crx still needed a few small things and a new battery tray. Friday and some of sat working to get ready, I spent some time going over everything and making a new battery tray out of some angle iron I found laying around.
I really wanted to keep the battery in the engine bay but due to space the only place was on the back cross member.
Once that was out of the way It was time to fit the bumper, I ended cutting up the bumper a lot to get it to fit right.
Next up was a catch can, since I was all out of supply I resorted to a nos bottle I had laying around.
At this point I had reserved a trailer to tow the crx down since I didnt feel like using the tow bar witch ment I could install the axles and get ready. Driver side was in under 10min, the passenger side took almost 5 hours.....
I broke 5 craftsman 1/2 ratchets, 1 1/2 snap-on breaker bar; lots of heat and a baller snap-on gun was what ended up getting the damn axle nut off....
Sunday, fresh off the trailer and ready to go.
At this point I was pump, car sounded GREAT! I was letting the car warm up witch took forever to even start due to some e85 blues (super cold weather). Car warmed up, fan kick on, rev'ed it a bit, then.............. R.....I....P..... crank pulley.......................
Track day was over, I couldnt get a pulley in time to make a pass. I also got hit by some of the broken bits. Lucky no one got hurt and I believe the motor is still good.
I dont understand why it blew apart as this motor has been together for over 30,000 miles...
