D15B6. Problems(Its Dead!)
« on: September 15, 2009, 09:55:59 PM »

I have a crx that has a boosted d15b6 hf motor. I also have a z6 waiting to drop in. problem is i cant seem to blow it up. i cruise in only first and second gear. i bounce off the rev a couple times  before i shift. I dont have a wastegate, but the motor is so weak it only spools up the turbo to 3-4 psi (ebay t3/t4). Im not going to just pull the motor out and junk it. thats no fun nor and im not draining the oil. no fun either. I just want it to blow up in all its shitty glorry. any tips.

Cliff notes I drive like an ass. motor wont die

No wastegate. I have a block off plate. those were pictures are of before the set up was done because i thought the motor may do some thing. not wasting money on a dyno to see a 50 hp motor let loose if it even would

Did you have an 8valve or 16valve. the ports are about the size of a 1/2 pipe.

Nitrous may be a good idea. just gotta find some one to let me use there bottle for 10 minutes or so.

5th gear wot pull til she blows.  Or borrow someone's smaller turbo so you can make manly boost to blow it the right way.

Just spray a 75 shot on top of the boost.  Ideally, it holds together for most of the bottlw while you titter like a school girl and race stock Mustangs.

1. cut the intake mani down the middle of the runners so you leave the injectors still attached to the head
2. start motor
3. ????
4. profit

Fix the exhaust leak or boost leak that you have that's making you run such low boost. Fix that and you'll scream till you go BOOM

You should only blow the motor from too much power.  Dont pour shit in it or fuck up the motor.  Find your leak or whatever and then block off yoru wastegate.  RUn manly boost.

The NOS idea is win too.

i advanced the timing all the way. Hits between 4-5 now. its an ebay t3/t4 with a shit motor. i have done a leak test with the charge pipe. no leaks. the exhaust has gaskets wit rvt on top. no carbon around any of the flanges. i did some 2nd gear drops on the highway going about 70. nice rattle noise but still fires up idles fine, just smokes alot more.

I have an F22B2 that won't die.  It developed a rocknock after losing a few quarts of oil driving home from a college visit last spring.  Parents said I couldn't buy a replacement motor (with MY money) since this one runs well

I don't know who's stupider, your parents or you for doing what they say.
