yup like U.I said, lots of those JDM RHD buckets running around B.C and canada for that matter without issue.

Try and find someone that can register the car up here and plate it as a BC car and drive it. You're not far from the border anyway.

unless you dont want to put that much effort into it, and in that case, sell it.

but sell it for what you paid, some JDM fan boy will pay what you have into it and prolly more.

Jeff a heads up importing of JDM cars=major no no now. 2 places here in California got their containers crushed by the EPA for having complete cars coming over

So in reality you should be able to get more than what you paid since no one is going to dare bring over complete jdm cars anymore

You cant techincally bring over jdm swaps either. They dont want transmissions on motors,no manifolds,no sensors on motors brought over. Kinda odd stuff but the EPA is involved now so the days of JDM cars are long gone.

Take vins from other car and register as that car. done

what about firewall stamped vins

The shuttle has a gook firewall vin. I have the us dash vin stuck on the dash, and the vin sticker inside the door. Cops aren't that smart.

If you do end up registering it in BC, you might like to know that ICBC (Insurance Company of British Colombia) will only cover the car for 30 consecutive days out of country.  You'd have to drive back up across the border every 29 days or risk being dropped for coverage.

Why don't you just buy a USDM body/title and re-stamp the VIN's on the car?  Granted it not the 100% legal way but then you could keep the car and even if you got pulled over you can say you transferred everything from the LHD car to a RHD.  You have the papers that the motor and stuff is yours and not stolen so if you get pulled over I seriously doubt a cop is going to hassle you weather or not the shell was actually the original titled shell.

A buddy of mine actually did this to his car (and he is an actual cop)

It sounds risky but have well known dependable person in a less strict state title it. Then you would essentially be just buying it from them since the car doesn't show up as ever being yours in the first place. Just send them the paper work, they would take it to their DMV, get a title and send the title back to you to transfer into your name. I think this is something you'd regret greatly down the road as one of those "the one you let get away". It's just a idea... Hell my car dropped it's salvage IL title when I titled it here in WI. Gotta love this state!

Is it possible to get it re-VINned with a North American VIN?  I know a lot of the guys up here in Canadia re-VIN their RHD cars because the VIN is too short (11 digits vs. 17 digits).  If you can get it re-VINned you might be able to register it since the VIN would be the right length and they may not ask any questions.

This might work if they don't ask to see the car itself.

Well I dont know anyone who would do that, and I would have to register it in my name, our state requires "out of state car inspections" so I would have to bring it to state patrol to get checked out, I'm sure they would figure it out. I can't drive around a car that is not in my name and from a different state. My old man got busted in Vegas for leaving his car registered in WA state.

would make more sense to get a different vin/title from a usdm crx and title/register it that way, then out of state.

So a vin swap? probably the worst idea. Its a federal offense, prison time, 250,000 fine. Then lets say I run into somebody and killed them. They investigate the car and figure out the vin plate was swapped. My insurance company wouldnt cover shit and I would be completely fucked for my entire life. Not worth it for some jdm goodness.

for what you doing yes vin swap unless you find a legit way.

if your goign to be stressing out everytime you take the car out becasue you think your going to get arrested and fined i say its not worth it and sell that car unless someone can hook you up with a legit title.

Maybe try this place
http://www.its-titles.com/
Jeff, I'm not saying doing a VIN swap cause I don't want to see you behind bars or scared to drive your car around. I wouldn't do it myself. I'm saying, essentially have someone from a more lenient state for titling of cars. I mean what would be the difference if you bought a registered imported RHD car from a member from another state and brought that title to your local DMV and had the title swapped to you. I mean even if you had to bring the car in. It would have the VIN and no shady VIN swapping or anything like that. It would have a legit title to your car. I know Florida has is pretty lenient, I've seen quite a few real RHD in WI. I don't think it would take that much leg work. Just more so asking around be it here or *cough..honda-tech..cough* cause the amount of RHD title cars on there. You just have to ask around and if you find out WI would work. I'd would help you out on running there and doing that. Then you send(sell) you the title back. All that I would ask would just cover the titling fees. Nothing more then  just to be able to get YOUR car on the road legally.

Henry, I will give you all the info if you want to see if you can get it registered. If I can somehow get a legit title for this thing, I'll spot you 100 bucks plus all the title fees. You have PM.

I'll contact that place tommorow.

oh and ebay took my listing off because It doesnt have a title and these cars are illegal to sell. So I have to relist it stating off road use etc etc.
