B16 oil cooler/heater on my z6 block before I pulled the TT rods out.
This what pictures I have DL so far I'll take more. I pulled the block out and yanking the tranny out tomorrow so I can install the LSD when it shows up.
I'm also yanking the rack and pinion out since I'll have everything else out to replace the 18yr old tie rods (inner and outer) and install my prothane rack bushings. I'll take picts of the work tomorrow.
I'm also swapping my steering column for a tilt unit. I might take picts of that also.
I'm putting the block on the stand to figure out what is going on with the block.
I have to use a cheater bar to start cranking by hand.
Then once I get it moving I have no problems cranking by hand with a 3/8 snatch-it.
It almost feels like one of the mains is grabbing.
I'm remeasuring everything and if I have to I can use my back-up block.
It is already cleaned just needs a bore 0.5mm o/s , hone, decked 0.020" and a rod clearance grinding.
I can do all of the machining at work. ;D
I have a lot of motivation to get this beast back on the road. I'm spending 3-4hrs./work night and 12+hrs/on the weekend days.
I have to take some vacation time this month so I'll even have more time to spend.
