Intake ports (y8) after matching with z6 manifold before I installed the crower springs and Ti retainers.


B16 oil cooler/heater on my z6 block before I pulled the TT rods out.



This what pictures I have DL so far I'll take more. I pulled the block out and yanking the tranny out tomorrow so I can install the LSD when it shows up.

I'm also yanking the rack and pinion out since I'll have everything else out to replace the 18yr old tie rods (inner and outer) and install my prothane rack bushings. I'll take picts of the work tomorrow.

I'm also swapping my steering column for a tilt unit. I might take picts of that also.

I'm putting the block on the stand to figure out what is going on with the block.

I have to use a cheater bar to start cranking by hand.
Then once I get it moving I have no problems cranking by hand with a 3/8 snatch-it.

It almost feels like one of the mains is grabbing.

I'm remeasuring everything and if I have to I can use my back-up block.

It is already cleaned just needs a bore 0.5mm o/s , hone, decked 0.020" and a rod clearance grinding.

I can do all of the machining at work.  ;D

I have a lot of motivation to get this beast back on the road. I'm spending 3-4hrs./work night and 12+hrs/on the weekend days.

I have to take some vacation time this month so I'll even have more time to spend.

Believe it or not I use the space to its full potential.

I work in there even when I only have a 2ft wide pathway. :yes:

That lappy has a fucked up screen so just use my old CRT with it.

If you look closely I have a cassette/record/tuner player under the laptop.

And a cassette adapter to plug into the earphone jack to my laptop or one of my mobile dvd players so I can turn up the sound going through my ghetto surround sound (6 speakers) going to only speaker jacks on the back of the stereo.

I still listen to records. ;D

I use the empty containers for catching oil, to hold some for dipping parts like bearings, pistons w/ ring just before putting them in the engine. ;D

Well figured out the issue a corner of a rod bearing was pinched some how and was dragging between crank counter weight and rod.

I filed the pinched part of and assembled the bottom end and now everything moves easily.  ;D

Pulling the transmission out today installing the obx  LSD I got from magik123. This LSD has already been fixed with new bevel washers.

I'll take pictures of the install of the LSD and maybe if I have time I'll install the trans. and engine today if not for sure tomorrow.

Well I ran into a little snag my input shat bearing in both trans. are crap.

So I'm in need of a ISB and seal. I looked for about 2hrs. before I found the correct p/n to cross and order.

P/N 91002-PS0-003, 26X58X15, BCA * 102CC,  DYP * 102SS for future reference.

Have you decided what your going to do with the manifolds/piping from the SC.

My original set-up was to restrictive and it had the edelbrock intercooler going too far to the passenger side and I had to cut a hole in the bumper to clear the bend.


So have 3" piping from the s/c to a 25"x12"x3" w/ 3" in/out.
I have not finish mocking the piping up yet because I awaiting on some parts to put my transmisson back to gether with the LSD.

And I need to finish getting the engine back together today or tomorrow. I'll have pictures this week. I work on my project 2-3 hrs. after work every day to get this done.


As for the J-swap the driverside mount is down low using angle iron Ill post some more if I can get some more pictures.

My buddy was driving it around town today for a little shakedown.
The semi-auto transmission works perfect. :yes:

The completed engine y8 head on z6 block and if you look closely you will see a egay fuel pressure gauge sender.
Now I can keep my fuel pressure in check and without doubt.

Ok I got the trans. done w/ LSD had to get a new ISB and seals for this trans.
But First this transmission rebuild and LSD install is brought to you by Captain and Coke

Trans. assembling in the kitchen for better lighting and warmth.

After installed the new ISB and seal

New output seals

Just before closing

This weekend transmission, clutch and engine assembled possible installed in the car. We'll see. ;D
