Having seen the SBC Chevy style ports on the F22, I can see it making 700 whp, but the D, what a stretch.

Yes, I'm a Bisi fanboi but it just doesn't add up.

Per Bisi's suggestion I did check out F22 SOHC exhaust ports, same size as a SBC!!!!

WTF........THAT motor needs more work IMHO I thought at the time!

Yup.  No idea why honda would throw away a design that good.  Any idea if there were any OBD2 F22A's?  Supposedly the 96 F22 powered preludes had them, but I'm not sure if honda just dropped a B2 in it instead.

Preludes indeed had the Ax variant

The Ax heads are all the same casting IIRC

F22A1: 125 hp (93.21 4 kW) @ 5200 rpm. NOTE* The 1992-1996 Prelude S had a F22A1 but because of a different more aggressively tuned ECU (P12), the power output was 135 hp (101 kW).
 
F22A4: 130 hp (96.94 kW) @ 5200 rpm. The F22A4 is the same motor as the F22A1 but it has slightly more power due to a tubular designed header and slightly bigger exhaust piping.

F22A6: 140 hp (104.40 kW) @ 5600 rpm. The F22A6 is the same as the F22A1 except for a slightly more aggressive camshaft, a better flowing cast exhaust manifold, a different more aggressively tuned ECU (PT6), and a different intake manifold that utilizes IAB's and also has a bigger plenum. The F22A6 also has a windage tray in the oil pan, and stiffer valve springs to accommodate the more aggressive camshaft.

in fact this is something any welder can tell you, (an HVAC tech could it explain thoroughly) nobody needs bisi's "advanced explanation" to understand it. if you have a 1 gallon bucket of water on a burner that set to 9 and a 3 gallon bucket of water on the same burner set to 9. it will take three times longer to boil the 3 gallon bucket even if they have the same specific heat. this numb nuts is saying it dosnt matter how much water is in the bucket, it only matters that both buckets contain water. WTF!

bisi could end all this by just posting a dyno chart but he wont because he dosnt have one. he would rather argue over trival items and try to tell people the earth is flat, and he invented the earth anyway, so "your" point of view on the subject is worthless. same reason he dosnt advertise cam specs or anything else. yes there are people who make bad cam decisions based on lift and duration only and all sort of bad information floating around about cars in general. but thats who bisi is, he dosnt care that his customers are stupid and lack mental tooling to ever be happy with his products. i've been doing this shit for awhile, nothing is ever cut and dry. all this guy realy has is his name and he just puts his name on a webb camshaft and calls it a day (fagot), and then dosent give out the timing cards WTF! besides all this, i know pipe headers dont glow anyway. unless you give it the coals with timing looking up at you for like half an hour. f1 headers glow red and they dont even have a turbo. noslo's log header was dull red but there was alot of shit wrong at the time and its not stainless.

in the 80's when they finally gave up on the offy (by "they" i mean the entire indy racing/engineering/sponsor/team manager community) it was making 800 hp from a ~2.6L DOHC inline four running at 40psi on methanol fuel. if i were bisi, i would forgive people for being sceptical, when i dont have a dyno chart and i tell them i've made a significant improvement.

and who ever the fuck mndude07;2356566 is... he should whack himself in the nuts with a rubber mallet, because this guy is nothing but a tool made from inferior genetic material.

flat-black, I think JD is trying to inform you that there are much more limiting factors to a D16 making 700whp than just octane alone. Although when not running sufficient octane, such as the case of running pump w/ a band-aid, overcoming those boundaries are damn near impossible to achieve.

At least, that's what I got out of it. Your 2.2L doesn't have nearly the obstacles to overcome to make that kind of power. Its apples and oranges and you're trying to say they taste the same.

i understand, but when D16's are making the same power i am (you too spiker) with a slightly smaller turbo and same amount of boost pressure, on viataras what gives... i GET the inefficences and the limits of the D16's... but WHO has done it... minus the speculation?? nobody! i know meth isnt as good as race gas i was on the fence about trying to get 700 on my H... i personally wouldnt wanna try it on a D series but im not gonna sit here and make a 7 page thread saying it cant be done... not with what ive been seeing as of lately... IM not as up on things as you JD but you know what... you dont know either and to say you do is bullshit

Not to mention i have built quite a few engines most performance some not ive tuned a few im by no means a Genuis nor do i claim it... so dont go speculating about things you arent certin of altho you seem pretty good at it
