Fabrication:

This is my first time welding and braising. Power of RHMT

Charge pipes.. Went with some aluminum braising to keep the pipes together. Will be using couplers to make sure pinholes dont create problems.



Downpipe.. Ordered a bend online and cut a few pieces for fitment. Then proceeded to mock it up and weld to the vband flange.

Thanks for the help on that. I pretty much did what you suggested with slotting the nut to death. It didn't give up so I ended up smashing it out with a flathead and a rubber mallet on the slotted nut pieces. Easily the toughest one I have ever taken out.

Thanks.. I have a trick up my sleeve for this which has not been suggested in my other thread, but I can see some lower temps possibly coming with it. Will make it work with though when the time comes for testing. I definitely plan to test on the street before wasting a whole day at the track with constant overheats. I plan on using the antilag feature as well so this will be a challenge even more so.

very nice plan yeah would SUCK to spend the money on a track day and pull over every other lap :P

keep the oil temp happy too, even with my stock z6 at 12psi it was to hot after a good chunk of the day.

bust out the angle grinder and work that block over, mount the turbo the right way on that manifold, and then put a full length radiator in that thing...

The oil pan is shallow directly where the hot side of the turbo is mounted. I don't have a picture mocked up with it like I should have shown, but I did mount it up to check for clearances. From what I see the alignment of the dp will be perfect at that angle. I am referring to having the cold side facing the drivers side door. I am still going to have to slightly adjust the radiator location but will keep air flow in mind.

just saying that the manifold is not designed to mount the turbo that way. pushes the turbo too far forward, and aims the downpipe and intake like shit.

Just acquired a Lincoln Weld 100 from my jew cousins for $100 bucks. Going to Harbor Freight tomorrow for a welding helmet and a few other things then I will start trying to fab some shit up.

No offsets programmed yet. I will post them up though when I get to that. I tried to install the injectors but the o rings were too large to allow them to fit the fuel rail.

Will post it up on the HOLSET forum soon paying more attention to the turbo details

Point taken. Upon closer inspection when I start aiming pipes for cutting if it does not work I will look for another one. At $65 bucks shipped, switching is always an option.

Not sure what you mean by taking advantage. I WAS going to switch out the exhaust side for something that was the same size but in a lighter form, but the costs for it was about 150 minimum. I have had a change of plans since then and just decided to keep it. 12cm 3 inch exhaust.

interested to see where the holslut spools on this motor.

Antilag should get it going nicely  8)

Twin waste gates if you want full affect from the twin scoll, or trade me you none ported 12cm for my super ported 12cm hot side.

Still waiting for parts.. Got all the speaker stuff yesterday and installed in a hour or so. Its removable so I can take it out easy, save weight, and its not too smart to race with a speaker box as it could potentially kill you in a accident  :?:
Industrial Dubstep is what I usually listen to


I bungee corded it to the rear strut bar but need to throw some padding on the bar where it meets the amp for vibration dampening.

I have been playing with the intercooler placement and piping while I wait on my welding mask. Already cut a few pipes and stabbed the shit out of my thumb on accident when I was mocking up the IC pipe.

Have you test fit your rad back in there?
I had a similar mani in my integra with an hx35 and that slight angle aims the downpipe right at the radiator.
I had to rock the gangster lean on the rad and it all around sucked.
I finally changed my manifold but I need to repost my build thread, it took a dirt nap.

I would get another header flange, and then stack that betwent the mani and the head, and then flip your mani around and notch the block the rest of the way for your tubo to clear. This is the turbohf way to do it. I saw him do it a few years back with his 50trim on the itr, He keept the full rad, ac & ps. Shit was kinda tight but it all fit.
