Linkage is adjusted perfect. I ran it slowly through the whole range and nothing nowhere through it. So tomorrow I'm gonna pull the pan and have a little look. The great thing about powerglides it a full rebuild kit is about $65. The good thing is the motor runs fucking great, and the car sounds fucking amazing. Still needs a bunch of tweaking on the carb, and I need to replace the springs to recurve my timing but I don't want to do anything else untill it will move, I need to go out and drive it to seat my rings and the motor has about 10min worth or run time on it normally I idle a fresh build for about 5 min and then go out and start driving right away to do some hi vac pulls to get them seated real good. Has always worked real well for me doing it that way.

No not really loving the 65, the front fender/headlight area really wrecks it for me. Rust free is what I am after. I would rather spend a few days traveling then six months welding panels in lol. I would like to start with a nice car already black, don't care about engine and trans. Nice black interior would be sweet to, bucket seats and a standard if we are getting really picky lol. I'm hoping to have everything ready on my end so I can get one home and build it this winter. I am a little shocked at the prices of some of them though, been a while since I looked them up, they have really come up in price.

Well, trans is fucked! Put a gauge on the test port and put it in drive and it hit 115-130psi depending on gear so the pump was good, but the fluid looked like shit even though its all fresh. Guy I bought it from had it stored on the side of his house and he said it worked fine when he pulled it. And it probably did. But it must have got water in it at some point when he had it outside. I took a peak inside it b4 I put it on and it looked nice and clean in the pan. Well I pulled the trans and then the pan.....

I pulled the whole thing down apart figuring the clutches were hammers, and nope nothing, no stuck valves, no worn band nothing. Just water in the fluid. So rather than do a full rebuild on it, and get a new tq converter, Im just gonna try and slam my th400 in and go from there. So until then its sitting on jack stands while I order up parts and get the driveline shortened.

So this morning I pulled the trigger and ordered up this
Column linkage to attach the th400

Crossmember to attache the th400 into the car only problem is they are out of stock and wont have it back in stock until latter this week which means it wont ship out until friday..... I hope (fingers crossed)

and a th400 yoke that accepts the 1310 u joint, which is the stock style for my driveshaft. And from the looks of the pictures they have I believe It will also fit on the truck style output shaft because it is machined to have a few inches of splines out to fit over the truck style o-ring.

Also changed the weights and springs out in my distributor today, and picked up output, input seals, and a transmission pan gasket and filter.

Father-in-law has a th400 transmission case that's in his barn that was left there when he bought his place. Gonna snag that from him tomorrow and that way I can mock up the transmission into the tunnel and see where I need to massage it for clearance. Once that's done Im going to install my transmission and pull my measurement for my driveshaft and drop it off on Tuesday to have it shortened and then install that.

Hope they ship this shit out like asap. I really like the people @ chevy2only.com, but they are in Kentucky and I dont know if life moves at a slower pace there but it seems like everything I order from them takes 2 weeks to get here.

Just called them up to check the status of my order because I got a email with a tracking number saying my order had shipped out yesterday but it only weighed 12lbs, So I figured it was just my yoke and linkage. Turns out they did have a crossmember in stock and he said they put the yoke, and the linkage in a box inside the crossmember box. So tracking says it will be here Tuesday.

Going to call the driveline guy up and see if I drop it off in the morning if I can pick it up in the afternoon. And hopefully drive it next week!

I pulled it for inspection. Pulled that bitch down to a bare case, and re assmbled it. I'm sure a flush would have done the trick, but by that point it was already out and I ordered up all the parts for the th400. Which is what I should have just done in the first place, but I wanted to take the easy route and it wasn't so easy.

Small update:

Put the transmission in yesterday for a quick test fit. Pulled it down and clearanced (beat the hell out of it) the tunnel at the tailshaft where it would make contact. put it back up and pulled it back down a couple of times to make sure I got enough room for it. So tomorrow, Ill pull the trans back out, put the tq convertor in the trans and hopefully bolt it back in for the last time.

Well, pulled the trans put the tq converter in and reinstalled the trans. Hopefully when my crossmember shows up Tuesday I won't have to pull it back out to clearance more for the trans.

Well, FUCK!!!!!

Crossmember fits great. Transmission has about 1 1/2 fingers clearance to the tunnel. So thats good. The fact that the crossmember runs right trough the middle of where my exhaust is/ needs to be fucking blowes! So it looks like I will be filling my tank up to do some exhaust work after all.
