Well, fenders and core support are on. Everything fits about as well as it did before. Now I just need to elongate a couple of holes on the core support so I can actually bolt it to the frame rails. Then paint my inner fenders and bolt them on. Getting closers, that's for sure.

Nope, core support, then the outer fenders, then the hinge supports then the inner fenders.

Ok, so it's been a while since I've touched this car. In the process of getting ready to list my house up for sale. Pretty much been a mad dash!! From the time I get home until about 10 at night I'm working on this thing. Painting and what not. Once it's sold, (which will happen fast. Market is crazy in my area right now) it's getting moved to my inlaws where it will sit until I move out there and resume work on it. Which I'm assuming will happen sometime in april. Was hoping it would be running this spring but it might be pushed back to summer. So now I'm on the hunt for land to start building our new home. Kinda like whitey build thread. Keep a eye out for rhmh(house) build thread by ratcityrex!!

im not sure if i could imagine anything more stressful than moving in with inlaws (or with anyone as an adult married with child) or buying a home... but also building a house from choosing the land all the way threw. wow, thats gotta be cool. whitey house proves it. too many cookie cutter houses out here, all look the same. nothing much is cooler than building a nova...other than a house.

get to work! im excited for both...

Well, house is packed up some and in storage. It is now "staged" and goes up for sale on thursday. Took all of my fluorescent lights off the ceiling today. I had 8, 8' High Output lights and when my realtor told me that if they were bolted down to the house when they show it, it stays. I said fuck that, I'm taking them. They are about $200 each. So that's $1600 that I'm not leaving behind. Also did a search and the closest thing to my house that's up for sale is about 20 miles away. There isn't 1 house in my area thats 3 bedroom and 2 bath for under 325k. Needless to say I'm gonna make some money :-)

On that note, I got my hood support brackets painted and both of the inner fenders have undercoating on the wheels side. I ran out of my low gloss black that I like so much and had a half a can of rustolum appliance black epoxy. So I figured fuck it, I'll give it a shot. It turned out so good...lol needless to say i was at home depot today picking up 2 more cans. Only $3.97 a can. It dried hard as a rock and smooth as glass. Looks way better then I expeted. So I just need to shoot the other fender now and then figure out how to bolt them on...lol this is useless without pics, so this is all I got.

So not much has changed. Moving the nova this weekend out to my inlaws place.

So we put the house up for sale on the 3rd. Got a full price cash offer on the 9th. Inspection was done on the 15th. On friday the 18th the buying agent contacted me and wanted to bring a contractor in to price out a few theings that needed to be addressed. I said sure but i would like to see the report. She got it to me that night. It was ridiculous how the picked 31 items that were the most miniscule things. Like a sliding glass door that wasnt clean. (Mother fucker, i have a 70lb boxer and a 2 year old) so I ran around like a wild man fixing little things and replacing a garage door opener because it didn't have the eyes so if you walked under it, it would squish you. And if your dumb enough to stand there while its closing on you, i hope it kills you because your a idiot. So they come in on Sunday with a contractor and bid out 8 thing. 6 of which I had done since friday. They still wrote them up in the bid and didn't even look to see if they needed to be done. They totalled up @ $2000. It was a joke. The buying realestate agent is a full blown cunt. If she was a man I would drive to her house and punch her in the fucking throat.

So the 2 thing I didn't do was replace a piece of cracked trim/belly band and paint it. Also don't have sediment traps in my gas line to my furnace or water heater. Those add up to $978 to have fixed. If they can't live with us taking that off the cost of the house them I'm going to tell them to go get fucked and relist my house. It's not the money at this point it's the fact that I put so much work into this house, and to have her come in and just pick it apart without ever even checking to see it was fixed makes me think they are just trying to buy the cost of the house down. And for that they can accept my counter offer or go shove there offer up there ass.

Rant!

House is sold. Been out since the 8th. Still trying to sort shit out. I'm living with my inlaws while we search for some land. Land hunting has not been fun. Been hot and heavy on it and haven't caught anything. Nova sits...... 😭 hope to start wrenching on it next week.

Ok, so today. I said fuck it and ordered some shit even though I'm trying to be jew and save. Ordered a xr7 1970 cougar radiator for the nova. Has the correct side in and out and it's overall size is perfect and it's a 3 core for $100 shipped. Also snagged a ls1 water pump and tensioner. Got to pick up the ls1 crank pully from Ross and the cam from Dustin and I should be sitting pretty.

Ok, back on track. Got some shit for the nova.

Radiator,  it's for a 67-70 mercury cougar xr7. 3 core, has in and out on pass side for the ls and should fit pretty good. Cost $100 shipped for flee Bay.

Next, I got a ls1 water pump from rock auto along with a ls1 tensioner. All for fbody for about $110 shipped

And last but not least, I picked up a 2001 ls6 cam from Dustin in a parts swap.

I've also drilled and tapped the 1 hole on the block to mount the fbody alternator bracket. Now I just need to pick up the fbody crank pulley from josh and I'll be all set on the accesorys.

so that's the radiator to use... I had a whole list of them around here somewhere trying to find a perfect match. nova seems to use a pretty small radiator.

This rad is a little shorter then stock, but uses the same kinda style of mounting points. Just have to drill into the stock side flanges for new holes to make them mount up to the holes in the stock rad spacer. Hard to explain. I'll show everyone what I'm talking about when I get to that point.

ok. ill wait....if i have to.  ::) LOL.

i was almost dragging my radiator out to my back porch (seems to be 'long term storage' sight now). wasnt too excited about spending money on stock style china aluminum radiator. but inlet/outlet on passenger side + aluminum is now worth it.

Well today,I yarded my lq4 cam out and put the ls6 cam in. Didn't do pics with it pulled out, but I did the dowls trick. Backed all the rocker arm bolts out and then got it to the point of where i was going to pull the cam and I spun it over about 5 or 6 times. Slilped in a couple of $0.97 5/16 dowls in to make sure the lifters didn't fall down while I had the cam out. Worked great. Took all of about 30min start to finish. These are the only pics I have

Where do the wood dowels go?

Pull valve covers, unfortunately rockers, take all the shit off so you can get to your cam, pull cam gear and all that shit, pull cam retainer plate, put cam gamer back on, spin it around 4 or 5 times to push all the lifters back up. Use a 5/16" wood dowls and push that bitch into the holes that are behind the cam plate. Make sure it goes all the way to the back of the block. I referenced how deep I need to push it in against the cam I had out and made a mark on the dowls. Pushed in with  little side to side wiggle and it was a snug push the whole way but the lifters weren't falling down in the block that's for sure. Hardest part of the whole thing was pulling the crank pulley off. My 3 jaw puller is in storage somewhere and I had to rent one from the store. It was a totally piece of shit. So I ended up using a dodge/chrysler harmonic balancer puller and it worked ok.

That's the puller I use on them to, not a perfect fit but ok.

Yeah they sell special tools and shit like that to do it. But I think I had a total of $1.94 in wooden dowls. Think they were .94 each at home depot. Has to be the 5/16 ones though. It's great because you don't have to pull pushrods or heads!

Well, im One step closer. Fbody crank pulley/balancer on. Block tapped for Fbody alternator bracket, so I painted it and bolted it on. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get the water pump bolted on and get the other inner fenders painted and the one that is painted hopefully bolted on.

Not much to report on. I painted my other inner fender. Now I need to figure out what I need to take off to get these bolted on. Once they are on. I orded up a tentioner pulley, and a belt. Hope to get that on monday. Then I'm going to sites that fit my sump Pan for my fuel tank and hopefully get it out and drained. After it airs out for a few days I'll light it off and see if I can get it to burn. Then hopefully weld that bitch up, paint it and bolt everything back in. Then maybe I'll work on intercooler and radiator shit.

Well I got a little work done today.
Rocker arms torqued down (undid them to do cam swap)
Valve covers bolted back on
New intake manifold gasket
New throttle body gasket
Intake bolted on
In900 injectors put in (just need spacers and longer bolts)
Cut the t3 flange off of my 1 manifold because I didnt like where it put the turbo. Just need to redo it.

Next thing to do is install inner fenders and hood hinges and see if my truck intake clears the hood.

Fuel rail spacers installed and rail is bolted down. Hood test fitted and there's plenty of room between the truck intake and the underside of the hood. Like I could probably fit a holley hi ram without having to cut the underside of the hood up.

Not really. Once I put the radiator and inner fenders in its gonna take up so much room.

Ok, so I'm trying to get the inner fenders bolted on so I can get the radiator, intercooler, plumbing and all that installed so I can weld up some new turbo manifolds. New inner fender fits like shit. I'll make it work, and nobody but me will probably notice it but it is what it is.

Fucking brake line was in the way. So I gave her a bend out of the way.

That's all for now. Gonna try and finish up the other side tomorrow.
