Idk. The maps for 2 57 trims fit pretty nice.

I have pics of it but photo bucket is being gay but at 10 psi and 2k it's on the map and at 6200 and 14psi is its still on the map.

My father in law has been in town all week. So I haven't spent any time in the garage. Think I'm gonna try to weld onto the broken exhaust bolt this weekend or next week and see where I get with it. Then if I am successful with that I'll move forward with the rocker arm trunion replacement and finish assembling the heads. Then it's onto dropping the motor into the car and see how she sits. And see what needs to be trimmed where.

So I tried like hell to get this broken easy out bit out of the head. First I tried just welding a nut on. Let it cool off and then tried working it back and forth. Just comes off and I'm left with the bit still stuck. So I tried welding on the end of the bit to build it up so I could then weld a big nut on it to really get some heat into it. Just twist off......fuck!!! Looks like I'll be pulling the head and taking it to a machine shop to have them drill it out.







On a good note, I traded in my 40cf tank for my welder in and upgraded to a 125cf tank. Dude behind the counter hooked it up huge. Only charged me $97 out the door with the tank filled and everything. And now that I have the correct tip and wire this welder does a pretty good job.

forgot about that. so i tried that the other day on an LS/PR4 head. cranked welder to nog (3/4 is as high as i usually go) welded nut to it. as soon as the fucker wasnt glowing anymore i spun it right out. worked champ.

it was still stupid hot when i removed it. seriously as soon as it wasnt that scary orange, i threw a wrench on it.



is the weld getting down there? or is the wire just sticking to the nut and filling it?

Well the first few times it was sticking to the nut and would spin right off. So then I said fuck it, put the clamp right on the block and welded a nice little mound on the end of the easy out (it's broke off about 1/8" in the head) then slapped a nut over my mound and let her rip. I mean the whole nut was bright orange when I was done. Tried it while it was still hot,  also tried it once it cooled off. No matter what I did it would pretty much just break the weld off the easy out or leave the mound on there and break the nut off that. Shit I even tried welding a bolt on top of the mound. Still a no go. And of course the easy out broke off at a angle so trying to drill it make the bit just want to walk off to the edge of the bolt hole.

If it was just a busted off bolt I think the welding a nut trick would work. But since it's a easy out I think I'm pretty well fucked. Gonna probably try it again next week but if nothing then machine shop it is.

Got it out.......
I figured if I could get the broken bit out I could then get the broken bolt out. Well first I welded a washer to the broken bit, then while that was still cherry hot I welded a long bolt to it. It then attached another bolt to the end of the bolt with a nut and made a makeshift slide hammer with a brake flaring holder. And then i yarded on that bitch about 20 times and got it pulled out. I then welded a nut on the drilled out bolt and slowly worked it back and forth once it wasn't red anymore.  Took about 5 min just working a little back and forth until it came out. I think I'll have to run a thread chaser down it just to make sure the threads are ok but they look fine.

Not yet. Kinda up in the air still. Once I get the motor dropped in I'll have a little better scope on what's up. Twin ebay 57 trims sound pretty tempting. But then it's more plumbing and shit. Leaning towards the 76mm with the .81ar exhaust housing.

For the money I think I would try the twin CDM 57 trims. On good fuel they should be good for ~800hp.

Still up in the air on turbos. Will probably wait until after the holidays b4 i buy one anyways.

Little more progress. 
Got the garage pretty much clean and organized,  then I got most all the trunions pushed out of the rockers with my bench vice and some sockets. Got 1 more to do and then they go into the the purple power driveway cleaner for a quick soak. Then it's assembly time for them.

Well trunions are done. Good thing I have a NICE pair of snap ring pliers, man those fucking summit snap rings are no joke. I can tell you right now that those mother fuckers won't be breaking like the comp cam ones do. And they were about $36 less. Pretty easy to put together. Longest part of the whole process was cleaning the rockers once I stripped them down.



Now after I was done with them I gave them a good oil bath and slapped them in a ziplock for tomorrow. Gonna clean the pushrods and bolts and hopefully get all of the top end put together and get the valve covers on.

Well all valvetrain parts are cleaned and lubed up and ready to go in. Only got about 20 min of garage time in this morning so the only thing I was able to get done was get the pushrods, bolts and pedestal rails cleaned and ready to drop in

So I skipped taking a few pictures but, i got all the rockers and pushrods in, Valve covers painted and new gaskets in/on and bolted down, timing chain cover painted and lightly tightened down (still need to drive the balancer on b4 i crank it all the way down), Cleaned up the steam port caps and crossover and got those bolted down and last but not least I set the intake on to take a look at what it will look like when it's almost done.

Getting close now. Just need to put a freeze plug in intake manifold to plug the big egr hole in the side, and drill out the purge hole and rtv in my iat sensor, make a couple of fuel rail spacers and drop in my big injectors, bolt on my oil pan and rear main seal/cover oblong the holes in my flexplate for my converter to bolt to and the motor will be ready to drop in. Then it's trim and plate my shock towers and start fab on turbo shit.
