Went 10.608 @ 132.19 today.
« on: April 19, 2009, 09:17:59 PM »

Hot. Its nice to back up my past runs. 4 10 second passes so far this year. Im ALMOST satisfied.

The bad news....

Coming out of the burnout box @ 8900 in 2nd gear the differential exploded.
So I only got one run in today, but at least it was decent.

Went soft on the car 1st run, lift throttle shifting @ roughly 83-8400 rpm every gear. (8900 normally)

I regret that now, should have went balls out and possibly brought home a 10.4x

BTW im glad that the car didnt lose any mph after adding the cage (75% done, 2 front posts and floor plates left to weld in).

Hot.

Might go obx. I feel welded diff is too dangerous with stock axles. The wall hurts.

An OBX LSD may destabilize you, if you aren't careful.  Closely inspect the washers (where the diff pin used to be) and make sure they are arraigned so that they are a little tight when you close the diff up.  If you leave them out, or jingling, you may get that sweet unstable side-to-side under power phenomenon.  Makes it really hard to hold the car between the lanes.

Nobody has to be able to afford to do it. All anyone has to do is drive to your house and let you work on something.

JD, no complaints here on all my installs, the washers are to control noise, not preload.

Chuck, have two at the shop that fight you under power, where before they were stable peg leggers.

They don't when there's an intermediate shaft and an alignment involved.  Neither of these cars are D-series.

yep, but if you got the dough, quaffie makes the 35mm ones.  you should be able to find five 40mm trannys for the price of one quaffie 35mm diff

http://www.importdpsonline.com/Store/Product/ItmGroupDetail.aspx?GroupId=55998&Make=HONDA

might have to cross refrence the engine code to the tranny code but hope it helps
