anti-theft ideas.
« on: April 22, 2009, 07:54:19 PM »

I made a thread on the old site about this..

I've got some new ideas though and I'd like to share.. maybe a fab guy on here could make a few.

Basically, a steel box that covers your steering wheel column, so the thief cannot break the steering wheel locking mechanism to unlock it.

ideas? suggestions?

Alarm system disables all relays by removing the relay ground circuit.

except lights.
IGN, Fuel, Starter, etc. are disabled.  Or you could make it blow a main fuse by using a relay to short it out if someone tampers with your car

Take your ecu inside with you at night...Or everytime Its a pain in the ass but your car is there in the morning...

You can also make a small custom harness that takes out sections of your engine harness... and other main wires that are needed to run the car...

Kill switches
Take the main relay in the house
Spot lights that are motion actived

No one will steal your car if you drive this.......

Or this.............

And If you drive a car like this.....Pray that someone steals it... And I'll pray for your brain to evolve from monkey to man.

Usually I just put my ecu into my trunk and arm the alarm, also have a couple of switches for ignitions and fuel in the cabin.
BTW: On my del sol, trunk is only accessible by key, so storing ecu and possibly the main power switch in there would be a good idea as well.

The best way to avoid theft is to sell everything you own and live in a cardboard box.

kinda of over the top, but i used to live at the end of a road, and would pad lock and chain my car to the street light.  i used locking lugs on my already curbed ass rims, 2 heavy duty locks and 'towing grade 3' chain.  not impossible to steal, but deffinately not easy.

Fuck you I got the idea of steel box before you ;) lol

It's a serious option since it is how they have stolen my car.

I had an idea: put 2 wires in the gas tank over the fuel level pluged to a 20000Volt coil and if you forget to press on a button, the gas tank explode with the spark of the coil.

Other then that, a switch for ignition, a switch for ECU a switch for gas pump and an eject button ;)

you can use the clutch switch.  Re-route the wires to a momentary switch.  They can still push start it, but i could throw them off.  On top of other things... fuel pump ground cut switch under the carpet, into the back of the seat.

That's either suicide or a murder charge.
What if your button breaks?

I would not blow up my own fucking car because some dipshit tried to steal it.

Bury this somewhere deep in the dash, or a vent where it can be herd but not found. It will deliver 139db's of ear peircing lovingness. Hook it up to a pressureswitch on the seat, so when they sit in the seat it goes off or to the main relay, or another power source that will constantly stay on to piss off the theives and make them go away, and wake up half the neighborhood in the process.
